I am a natural blonde with very fair skin and freckles. My hair stylist convinced me to go red months ago, and while I love the look it is very expensive to keep going back to the salon every month. So I've messed around with various boxed varieties - everything from Garnier to L'oreal - before finding this great Clairol color. Light Spice by Nice n Easy is perfect - it's not too red (the Feria line is notorious for crazy reds). It looks very natural and has just a hint of a lighter brown and gold in it. The highlights built into this product really give dimension and depth to the color. I've had people comment on how great my hair looks. It does not dry out your hair. I usually have to re-dye every 3-4 weeks when roots begin to show, but it has not fried my hair at all. Reds have a tendency to fade, and this one does, but as it fades it doesn't become orange like other products I've tried. Even with slight color changes due to washing, it's still wearable and beautiful through each st

I have dyed my hair off and on ever since I was about 15. I generally have hair longer than the middle of my back so to dye my own hair takes a lot of dye. I have been using Nice'n'Easy for over a year now and my hair has never been so healthy while dyed. After each new dyeing my hair is luxuriously soft and it maintains a healthy gloss no matter what shampoo I use. The conditioner that's included is faboulas also. The only thing I would say about this is the color does fade after about 5 weeks causing a distinct change when I re-dye, even when it's with the same color. Otherwise, this is my favorite self use hair dye ever. Read more

Thank you to Erin the reviewer two spots down from me, I've now found my perfect red shade. I, too, am a natural medium blonde with warm, light skin, and I've been dying my hair various shades of "auburn," "medium auburn," and "lightest auburn" by different store-brand haircolors for over three years now. My biggest problem with all the other brands and shades was that when the red fades (and it WILL fade!), the color looks orange! Yuck! With this shade, I'm left with a warm, light brown as the red fades, not to mention that it looks so much more natural than the others, that people cannot believe that it's not my real hair color! Five stars to this color if you're looking to find a red that looks as though it actually grows out of your own head! Read more

My natural hair color is a dark blonde and I now have about 1/4 gray. The Spice color makes my natural hair a beautiful natural looking reddish golden blonde (similar to my hair when I was a teen) and my gray a light golden blonde so it looks like a really great frosting job with one simple and inexpensive application. Read more
