Great Lens for the Money

I purchased this lens last week and it arrived today. I am using it on an Olympus Evolt E-500 with the 14mm-45mm Zuiko lens. The HD 7000 lens is solid and heavy and has a feel of being very well built. When attached to the Zuiko lens, without a filter, I get only slight vignetting at full wide 14mm. There is absolutely NO Vingetting at 15mm. The image is perfectly sharp from edge to edge even when zoomed to 45mm. I am very happy with this lens. I did have to purchase the Olympus FL-36 flash because the stock flash is blocked by the longer lens. Of course, any semi-professional should have an accessory flash anyway. And the FL-36 works seamlessly with the E-500. If you need a wide angle lens and don't want to spend $800+ on the 4/3's, get this lens.

Problems Encountered: You must purchase an accessory flash because the size and extra length of the HD7000 creates a shadow from blocking the stock lens.

Items I Recommend: Olympus FL-36 Flash Read more

I purchased this lens to use with my Sony HDR-SR11 camcorder which I use primarily as a stand-a-lone camera for many of the events that I film. The HD-7000Pro is a solid and well built High Def Lens, with no vignetting throughout the full range of the lens or loss of light on this Sony camcorder. This is a great lens for the price without breaking the bank on.

You will need a adapter ring on the Sony...in all very happy with the purchase. I own several of the Raynox lens and like the quality of their product. Read more

I bought this to use on my HV30 and GL1. It is great. I have focus through the entire zoom. The lens is very heavy. I keep it on my HV30 all the time. There is slight barrel distortion at full wide. Read more

I bought this for my Canon HF-S10. The lens is well built, somewhat heavy for a consumer camera. Overall the focus was good. Video quality was great. A must have for the hobbyist video tool box. Read more

I use this with my Canon G9, sharp as you would expect
I preferred it over the original Canon product because you can add 82-mm thread filters. though i wish it was more compact. also, for indoors use you will need an shoe mounted flash. Read more
