And now that I've owned one for about 6 weeks, I'm quite happy with my purchase and now I realize that the hype is true. Quiet - The machines are so stinking quite! I'd say they have a decibel range equivalence to that of a laptop fan up to a computer server fan. Which in my opinion is quite impressive for a washer/dryer. Gentle - The lint that I pick up after these guys in the dryer is next to nothing! In fact, when I washed a small shaggy rug, I didn't find any big pieces of the rug in the washer, which was commonplace in the old washing machine. The blacks seems to be staying black as well. Detergent usage - Seems like we're using 1/3 less detergent. So yes, the HE detergent that these machines require is about 1/3 less in volume, but I really mean that it seems to do more with less and thus the detergent seems to last much longer. When you first put a load in it says will take 50 minutes and will then adjust due to the moisture sensor built in . I messed up and bought my washer from best buy and the dryer from Sears and I do have to say I am impressed with sears service plan. You pay more but its worth it.
