My 3yr old son was not getting potty training until we got the watch. The day it came in the mail he right away would go to his potty chair when the music went off. I read the reviews after I ordered this and got nervous about my purchase. I decided to see if there was another product out there like this and in my search, found that NO there is no other product like this. But I also found the website for the makers of this watch. I sent an email inquiring about the concerns mentioned here. I got a wonderful response outlining the issues and the steps they have taken to rectify them. First off, the battery is not replaceable, becasue the batteries (retail) for almost as much as the watch, so they opted to secure the housing over making the battery replaceable. Second, they made design changes to the chip inside the watch, which at times make the watch sound like the batteries are dying. With the new lot of chips, this issue should go away. Additionally, should the battery die in the first 30 days, they will replace the watch. I love the idea behind this watch. My 4 year old is still having "accidents" many, many times a day. It was putting a strain on our relationship because she was trying to argue with me over not having to go, then would have an accident 10 minutes later. This watch is an external motivator that she cannot argue with. The song starts playing and she goes running. It's amazing! She has gone from 10 accidents in one day down to 4 accidents in 3 days. Not perfect, but a huge improvement! I like the watch design. My daughter does not like wearing it on her wrist so we will hook it onto her belt loop or on her shoulder around her shirt sleeve. This won't work in the winter when her sleeves are long, but for now it's fine. My complaint is that it does not work consistently. There are times when it seems like it hasn't gone off in a while and when I check it, it has turned itself off. Other times I cannot get it to set to the time that I want, it gets stuck on 30 minutes. … Read more

1st- The BAD NEWS:Cute idea- However MANY people have complained that these watches simply DO NOT WORK upon arrival or only work for a short period of time! Hopefully the manufactures are able to produce a more successful & better quality product in the future (i.e, ones that ACTUALLY work!). I purchased one for my best friend's son and he was really exited to go to the bathroom the 1st time... however that was the ONLY time the watch actually worked ;([...] ;( Too bad because her son really enjoyed it... looks like we are going to have to resort to a refund ;(Here are the benefits to the "Potty Watch" (if it actually worked):The concept of the "Potty Watch" is a really good one because it helps children learn to go to the bathroom at regular intervals on their own!
