This TV was a great size for the right price. We moved into a smaller apartment and didn't want anything huge, but we didn't want small either. Sony provides a great picture with a great price. The only thing I don't like is that it has automatic contrast. It changes the contrast of the picture with the changing of the lighting. You can turn this off though. Read more

Product Uses:watching tv & gaming Review:The Sony KDL40V5100 was a great decision as a graduation present to myself. I purchased it when Dell had a sale a little over a month ago. The TV was delivered quickly and setup took less than a few minutes. This is my first LCD TV and for the price I love it. I did some comparison shopping online and at local retailers and for a bedroom set, this is perfect. I never realized how much of a difference HD and clarity could make for watching TV or video games, but now I finally appreciate it. Overall, the V5100 is great. It is an entry level according to Sony, but I still love it. This is definitely one of the best purchases I've made with Dell.com Clarity and picture is great. The Motion Flow high setting really makes anything I'm watching really pop. Some do not like the effect it gives, but after a while it grows on you. There are a few flaws with this TV however. I bought this TV on Father's day, auto-dim feature was really annoying for dark scenes (I know about this before buying but also knew that they have an update to fix this problem), called Sony and they send update with instructions in 3 days. After installing update (takes 3 minutes) this TV is great, no complains now. I watched same movies after installing update and now they are look great. My PS3 and Wii look great on this TV. DVDs with full pixel (1080p) look great, blue ray also looks amazing. Sound quality is better than other models in same range, in store I could hardly hear anything from Samsung model at same sound level..actually based on that I decided to buy this TV because picture quality is same in most of the models in this range. Got this one for 850 with 10% discount (765), best buy was selling for 800 today so sears matched the price and gave extra 10% (58$) so overall not a bad deal for such a nice TV.
