The product had a great start when it was delivered to my home. It was packed to protect the exterior and the movable parts had the needed restraints to insure that there was no damage to the tub, gearbox, and electrical controls. The installation was smooth, with no problems and it was checked out to assure that everything functioned as it should. The operation of this product is more than a two member family could ask for. I just got this washer yesterday and it's going back. It makes so much racket that I have to go in another room to use the phone. It makes a terrible "clang" when shifting gears and during the wash cycle instead of your usual swish sound, this one goes pocka,pocka,pocka. It really gets on my nerves. I must have gotten a lemon because all these other people sure aren't describing my washer! I let these ratings sway me because they were so good, but obviously all washers are not created equal. I bought this particular model because of the Extra Rinse Cycle. It turns out, I didn't need it as I thought I would. When I washed a load of queen size sheets including pillow cases, I expected that I would need to use the extra rinse cycle because of the size of the load and to avoid skin irritation. Turned out when I checked the load during the first rinse, I could not detect any remaining soap as would have been the case with my older machine. The spin cycle works awesome and I can fit a whole load of bedding. This is an awesome machine for the price. Read more

We've only had this washer for less than two months, and it has already ruined 2 loads of laundry. Sometime during the wash cycle, a type of oil or something has gotten onto our clothes (the load ruined yesterday were all new clothes from my son's 5th B-Day) and it won't come out. I called cust. service today who said they can't send a tech out until 4 days from now, and will not reimburse me for the clothes ruined. Bad washer, bad customer service. This washer's first task was a super-sized load which it handled with ease, leaving some very dirty items looking like new from a cleanliness point of view. Hook-up was a snap; in fact, the Home Depot delivery team installed and test ran the unit. I hadn't realized that was part of the deal but welcomed it. It has all the options we need, runs relatively quietly, and its cycles are reasonably short. We're happy with this Amana product and Home Depot's pricing and service. Read more
