I run a rescue rehab for abused Parrots. I bought this Macaw so I can work with the aggressive Parrots that we are working with. Because these Parrots have no tolerance for my other tamed Parrots they have learned that Squawkers is not going run away for them or attack them. This is the most awesome training tool I have ever found to work along with the Parrots that I have to rehab. And I was thinking that since this bird works wonders with our Parrots here I think it would be great for a special needs child as an educational tool.I read where someone said the feet broke, but as with any toy if it played with rough yes something would break. This toy is great. I haven't any any problems with it at all. I have read a few reviews about the feet breaking off but it seems to me that maybe the toy was being played with too rough. The feet have been fine on ours. I'd like to see the people who give the negative reviews on ANY of these toys on this website be a little more specific on what was happening when the toy broke. I'm sure the toy wasn't just being picked up and the foot fall off. If it did... then please say exactly that. If it broke because it was being played with incorrectly then please be honest on how it was being treated when it broke! At least the rest of us parents would know not to buy this as a present for a child that tends to play too rough. Thank you. Read more

My youngest son who is turning 3 soon, saw this on TV and starting asking everyday for it. He wants Santa to bring it to him, so we went ahead and got it early (before the Christmas rush!). It will be his Christmas gift and we can't wait! The bird was talking and singing in the box. We raise birds, especially Macaws and one of our Pet Blue and Gold Macaws saw this and she was very curious about this "new bird" she acted like she wanted one for herself as her play toy. She danced when Squawkers started singing and when it spoke, our macaw starting talking to it. It was so cute. I can't wait till Christmas to see my youngest son's face when he gets his own little macaw!!! I would recommend this to any one! Read more

I bought the toy for my 6year old as a Christmas present; he wasn't interested in the toy so I decided to stimulate my class. The students began touching him and he began to talk which made it seem more realistic. The one I thought would be afraid of him began to communicate more freely. It's worth the money and I would definitely recommend placing familiar phrases or words to assist the younger children. Read more

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter last year(2007) for Xmas. It was all she wanted. She plays with it all the time. She likes to record her voice onto Squakers voice and then listen to it again and again. She likes to take it everywhere we go. It would be nice if fur real had a smaller parrot. Read more
