Just received this speaker as a birthday gift to me from my hubby. First I thought he was giving me new ice bucket or an another ice cream maker... LOL. I was surprised! Most speakers out there are bulky, no handles, boxy types. This is a fun design; it feels sturdy with the rubberized bottom to keep it from tipping or slipping; very easy setup, just plug it in, click the wheel to the type of ipod you have and dock it. I like having to control the music from the top of the speakers and not through the ipod once it is docked, or using the remote control. We plan to use this poolside during bbq parties and outdoor activities. Love that protective top cover to shield your precious Ipod. As far as sound, you have to hear it to believe it. Good bass. Sometimes, I tweak the sound via the EQ settings on my ipod to my preference. Overall, I am very pleased and highly recommend this boombucket. Read more

I bought this today expecting a mediocre sound because I purchased it for a great price. I was blown away by the rich sound it produces. I will take this with me to the softball field, boating with friends, washing my car in the driveway, our yearly yard sale, tailgating, family functions at the cabin, upstairs while I clean or take a bath, barbecues, yard work, or just dancing with my 18-month old in front of a big mirror for big belly laughs.
I wish I could marry my Boombucket; they need to make a little tuxedo bra thing instead of the plain colorful bras used to protect it. I love it that much! I'm only half-joking about this. It is a great price in comparison to anything sold at Best Buy. I checked out our local Best Buy and nothing they had can even hold a match to the looks of the Boombucket or the price for such an amazing sound.
By the way, I am your target average consumer -- female, stay-at-home mom, do the grocery shopping -- well, all the shopping. I carefully re

This was a wonderful gift for my husband (an engineer). I bought this a couple months ago so that my husband would not be able to guess what he got for Christmas. Recently, most things in our house are becoming i-functional as we had to buy a new car stereo for the i-pod. We have a nano.

The speakers do go all the way around (so the other review that said 1/2 way--he should return his). It has amazing sound quality, not just "for one so small". It's stereo sound. It fills large rooms fine. We have it turned it up to about quarter volume. Full volume would easily handle college parties.

It has full range of sound--more bass than most players. The controls are very similar to i-pod controls so you don't have to see the menu/read the instructions to know how to operate it. I love that you don't have to take the shield off to operate, though I doubt we will use the remote either.

Many systems that hold all i-pods are designed just for the nano and the others are awkw

I needed a boom box for my iPod (first gen) because my wife is afraid the earbuds I use are damaging my hearing. I wanted one suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so it needed to be powerful enough for outdoors. I also wanted a rechargeable battery, and it should be waterproof or at least water resistant. I purchased a different player from another vendor, but it wasn't loud enough for outside. So I returned it and then I got this baby.

Wow. The sound is great - plenty of bass, clear, and it's loud enough for the beach (have to shake the sand out of the screen, though). There's distortion only at the highest volumes, and I don't ever need it that loud, even at the beach. The sound is also clearly audible 360 degrees around, probably to the chagrin of the other beach goers. :)

The rechargeable battery is great - it lasts for the six hours I'm at the beach or at the pool. And it recharges the iPod, too, when I plug it in.

All iPod menu functions can be controlled from the B

superioir sound quality, reason for returnig of three other poor-sound competing systems inteneded for similar use

Love built-in rechargeable battery with long period between recharges and no worries to keep on hand six to eight extra fresh C or D batteries

Well designed quality product with practical features

Compact remote control is easy to misplace during moves, I would suggest to attach it to bucket using adhesive velcro strip

Reasonable cost for all features

Reasonable shipping cost and time, well protected shipping carton

Would prefer if manufacture performed in US or allies, not in China, I resent my contribution to trade unbalance Read more
