Pros:
---------------------------------
- Well Constructed: the wood frame and metal bars are well constructed
- Stable: after assembly the gate is very stiff and stable
- Easy to Assemble: you need a screwdriver to assemble the gate but it's very straightforward if you layout all the pieces before you assemble it

Cons:
---------------------------------
- Short Height: the picture implies that the gate is tall, but this is not the case. The gate is 20 inches tall and that's not very much. Any cat can easily leap over the gate and medium to large dogs can hurdle the gate
- Need Tools to Change Width: the description says the gate can be adjusted (extended) to fit varying widths. While this is true, I expected it would be adjustable without tools (like a baby gate) but you need a screwdriver to adjust the width of this gate which is not something you can do on the fly when moving the gate from one doorway to another. Read more

We bought this gate to keep our puppy out of our family room which has a very wide opening. He's allowed in there only when he's gone potty but if he hasn't then the gate was supposed to keep him out. Well, he's only 3 months old and 10 lbs and he can jump over the gate without too much effort. We are going to see if a puppy trainer can help us teach him that when the gate is up then he is not allowed in. We are just disappointed that we spent so much and for right now, it's ineffective. BUT on a positive note, it was very easy to put together and it's very attractive. Read more

This gate allows you to effectively block an entrance without damaging the walls. I have a 50 lb. bulldog that does not jump or maneuver the gate whatsoever. A great buy that looks great too! Read more

This is a great looking gate that works for small, non jumping dogs, like a dachshund. The gate is very low, and can easily be stepped over by humans. Larger dogs would easily jump the gate. The gate can expand to cover a large dining room entrance, and also has an elegant look to it. It is easy to assemble, but is not a portable type gate you would cart around in your trunk. It is best used in a stationary location, like to block off a dining room area. Read more

We purchased two gates and they successfully keep our dogs out of the living room and dining room areas. It's just enough to deter the dogs. Additionally, the views into the rooms are not affected, so the overall feeling is very open.
The gates are well-constructed and the wood is beautiful. For something so serviceable, the overall effect is great! Read more
