This mattress topper arrived promptly and decompressed quickly. There was a chemical odor that lingered a bit longer than expected (about a week) but wasn't too strong and eventually dissipated. The foam itself is a pale yellow color, not the white shown in the photo. It also turned a darker yellow on the side we were sleeping on within a month. The change seemed to be mostly cosmetic and didn't seem to affect the feel of the foam. It was softer than I expected, and not as dense as other memory foam toppers I've tried, but it is still really comfortable. We used to wake up with backaches in the morning occasionally but that hasn't happened ever since we got this topper. Do note that memory foam retains heat much better than a traditional mattress which means its gets quite toasty in the middle of the night; this is fine for winter but it gets too hot in the summer sometimes. My husband and I had our 8 year old mattress replaced under warranty this year. Unfortunately, the new mattress was almost unbearable. We would toss and turn all night. I would rarely get more than a couple hours sleep in a row as I was constantly losing feeling in my arms. Faced with the expense of a new mattress and the hassle of selling the "other" new one we looked for other options.This memory foam mattress topper has been wonderful. It regained it's shape from shipping within hours and we slept on it that night. We noticed a slight odor upon opening but it was gone within an hour. I suffer from night sweats but have noticed a significant reduction in them since using the topper. I have never been able to sleep on pillow top/overly soft mattresses due to a back injury so I was skeptical I would sleep well on the topper. I couldn't have been more wrong. 4 inch memory foam topper

I had heard alot about this product and was excited to try it, especially finding the great prices here. Did alot of research and chose the 4 inch topper. It was delivered very quickly. Following directions I let it return to form, really only took a few hours.Product did have a slight smell, but I let it air out-no problems. The first time I layed down, I wasn't too sure, but after laying down still for a minute my body sunk in and everything molded and supported my body.I didn't want to get up!!!Could't wait to sleep all night. 'Bed' is one place I believe everybody deserves to be comfortable, especially with some of the physically and mentally tiring jobs some of us have. My bed was comfortable to begin with! Now it's even MORE comfortable with this memory foam topper. I fall asleep more quickly, and it seems like I sleep more deeply. I don't get cricks in my neck anymore either thanks to the contour pillows that suit me very well. I also used to occasionally wake up with an arm that had fallen asleep before getting the memory foam. Since getting memory foam a month ago, I've never had this problem! Very interesting! It took a little getting used to sleeping on foam that keeps you from moving and being able to slide around as much as you might be used to in bed, but once you get past the reduced motion across your mattress, you may find yourself sleeping more soundly, so it's worth it! I read a few articles that suggested that the 4-inch/3-lb density is the MINIMUM quality of foam topper that you should get to make sure it doesn't wear and to prevent hotspots from the mattress below. In any case, I bought 1 for my queen guest bed and one for my king. The Queen topper fit a little too big for my mattress, so I just took some scissors and cut it to size. Easy! I sleep through the night now, and sleep on my back or side in comfort. All of my visitors rave about the comfort of the guest bed as well. Highly recommended. Read more
