GE appliances were installed in my new home over 12 years ago and have served me well. I upgraded my refrigerator last year and have recently purchased this matching diswasher. I like the design and they look great together. Both are very quiet and work well. I like that the controls are hidden and provide several washing options such as anti-bacteria, deep clean and top rack only plus 'enhancements' including steam pre-wash, heated dry and delay start. I also like that the diswasher provides many options for loading via moveable guides. The only thing that bothered me was that several wires in the upper basket were crooked. I bought my first one a year and a half ago when I built my new home. It is very quiet but does not clean the dishes. I have had several repairmen come look at it but could not get it to clean any better. It leaves grit on the dishes and also stains. The worst part is after 5 months, it caught fire and melted without even being turned on. GE replaced it and I thought I would then get one that would clean the dished. Same thing, grit on the dishes. For spending over a thousand dollars on a dishwasher, I would think I would get one that would do what it was supposed to do, We now do dishes by hand until we can afford to replace this one. This is super quiet, cleans well, and easy to use. However, due to the way the interior is designed it does not hold as many dishes as our older GE Profile model. I'm not unhappy with this unit, just getting used to a smaller capacity. Read more

We have two young children and run a load of dishes at least once a day. We love the dishwasher. I was somewhat apprehensive about changing from my Kitchen Aid Whisper Quiet to a GE, but my husband assured me the GE would be quiet as well. Now that we finally have it installed and I have started using it, I love it. I often have to check to make sure it is actually running. The knock on this unit was its mediocre cleaning. I have found that it cleans very well, every bit as good as my Kitchen Aid. I love the automatic liquid detergent dispenser, very handy. The one criticism that I have at this point is that there are no internal clips to hold onto lids. I would also like to have a readout on the face of the dishwasher as opposed to the top of the door. Although this is not a big deal. If I am standing back in the kitchen I can see the readout and time left display pretty well. Read more

I purchasaed this dishwasher a year agoa and it is not cleaning my dishes or glasses. I use the auto-dispense for detergent and always have liquid rinse dispenser filled too. I have to run the dishwasher on the pots and pan cycle all the time with the "extra heat" setting on too. I scrape plates and rinse before loading. And lately, I have had to run the dishes through twice. Even my lower rack does not get clean. This is hardly energy effecient. I have had the GE repair man out twice since I purchased this, and he told me that there is nothing wrong with the dishwasher. He said it is my home (80+years old) and the water pressure is not good. The dishwasher does not have a fill sensor so the water fills up on a timer and does not fill up. I am thoroughly disapointed with this product and I spent alot of money thinking that the more spent, the better the product. I purchased about a two years ago a GE refridgerator which is so-so too.
