This a good computer for the price, need to update the power supply and video card and it is a great computer. I bought this computer new about 10 months ago and the only thing I had an issue is with the SD card reader, it stopped working and contacted Gateway support. They are no help at all, I had to contact them 6 times, and now they want me to send the computer in for warranty at my cost. The shipping cost more than the part, so I'm just going to use my usb card reader. So if you purchase the computer look at the service agreements, the warranty from gateway is worthless. Gateway use to have the best service, but I found out they were bought by acer, so that explains why it is really bad. Read more

The computer arrived five days later. I was really excited about getting my first quad core computer. My issues were the BIOS having an internal program error the eSata port would drop and not recognize my Seagate External drive. My USB video capture device would not load at all and after all these issues and many hours later (you know what it's like) I just gave up. I called Tiger Sunday morning told them about my issues and I was pleased how well they handle the situation. I ordered the DX4710-07 (new) and was not charged for shipping. The UPS return label was sent to my e-mail and the computer was sent back Monday morning. The people at Tiger Direct were great and I will buy/shop again and recommend my friends. Thank you. Good deal if you are looking to buy a pc that has a solid Quad Core cpu in it and over 4gb of ram for under 600 dollars. The only two down sides to this board is that it uses a PCI-Ex 1.0 slot instead of the newer and faster PCI-Ex 2.0 slot and a weak power supply. So if you are into gaming you will not only have to upgrade to a decent graphics card, but you will also have to upgrade the power supply as well. Be ready to throw at least an extra 150 more dollars into this pc to turn it into a gaming pc if you are a pc gamer. Read more

I was pondering on buying this computer and was reading reviews to get a feel of the experience previous buyers had with it. It is suggested that we can use the money we save to buy a decent graphic card to compensate for its weak graphics. The problem is that this computer has a meager 300W power supply that can barely sustain its existing components. I even doubt that the supply can support its 6 USB ports if all are used at the same time. So, how can it support an additional SLI graphics card? Read more

First unit went dead after a few days, but I received a replacement quickly and without hassle. It is a fast machine, a great value for the money. The only handicap as shipped is the video card, so without installing a new video card it isn't an ideal gaming machine. With the money you save on getting a quad core machine with 6GB, you could install a new video card and still have a great value. Read more
