The pictured steaks involved some drilling and modifications that we should have needed to do if the unit was converted by the DCS kit. DCS does sell a conversion kit, so it is a multi fuel unit. I have not been satified with previous gas grills for various reasons, but this grill was good enought to get me to put away the carcoal. I do have several suggested improvements for this grill. 1. The battery operated ignition system has failed twice in 3 years and it is not covered under warentee. The battery replacement is very difficult as you must press a 9v battery up into a closed plastic box. The plastic is flexible so, I feared breaking the plastic if I pushed too hard or not seating the battery correctly if I pushed too softly. A redisn is in order. 2. I am 6'2" and when the hood cover is open, the curved shape forces the heat and smoke directly into my face. I have taken to doing deep knee bends while I work the grill. I thus burn a few extra calories before dinner. Nevertheless, this is my biggest problem with the grill. 3.
