Thomas the Train Toddler Bed

We have a now 3 year old son that was born pre-mature and very low birth weight. Due to his early arrival he had always slept in our Bedroom either in his crib as an infant and then in our bed after he was about 12 months old. He had never slept away from us. As he neared 2 and a half we bought him the thomas the Train Toddler Bed featured here. Needless to say he was already a fan of Thomas the Train and trains in general, but even before I had it assembled in his Bedroom he had climed into the area where he would sleep and lay on the carpet. That first night he slept perfectly well all night long. Over the past 6 months he has only awoken from his sleep twice and come into our Bedroom in the middl eof the night. We are truely amazed at how well he has taken to his Bed. As his bedtime draws near he usually comments that he is ready to "go see Thomas" and then heads to Bed. We would truely recommend this perfect Bed to any parent who has a child that is ready for a Toddler Bed. … Read more

This bed is great but I think the price is way too high for it... we got ours for [$] second hand. It's easy to assemble, but if you have to disassemble it to move it for any reason, be careful as the plastic screw covers break easily. We also didn't like that we needed to purchase a piece of wood for the mattress to sit on separately. All that aside, we love our Thomas bed and our little Thomas fan spends lots of time in it playing with his toys. It definitely was a pain in the butt to put together but after all the pain and blisters it looked great. I dont like that it didnt come with any support system for the mattress. It is a very sturdy considering it is plastic. My son climbs all over it. My son does sleep in all sorts of positions and at times I have considered buying a bigger bed because he doesnt have much room to move around. I hear him kicking the wall at night while he is sleeping. Read more
