I have a 12-inch thick king size mattress and bought a new 4-inch memory foam topper from Overstock. At the same time, I bought the mattress cover because I thought it might make the topper and mattress look like one piece and other reviews said it worked for their king size bed. Didn't happen with mine. The sides of the mattress pad don't stay down as my other "extra-thick" mattress pads do. The sides started out covering all when I made the bed, but worked their way up inside the bottom sheet and hung on the memory foam topper after the first night of sleeping on it. Sides would probably stay down if I didn't have the memory topper. Bottom line -- if you have an extra thick mattress or one with a topper, it's not going to work. After a couple of nights and days of trying to get it to cover the mattress side wall, I gave up and put it on the king size mattress (without a memory or built-in topper) in the guest room and went back to the old mattress pad. The pad is great quality and super soft, but I like to sit up in bed and read or watch TV. Tihs causes the pad to slip down the mattress and within a day or two to come off the mattress. It is very annoying. But for someone who only sleeps in bed this is a super great bargain with awesome quality. For me, I have to take the fitted sheet off the top of my king mattress every morning , refit the mattress pad onto the mattress, and refit the top of the fitted sheet before I make the bed. I guess it is worth the trouble (until I threw my back out painting and could not refit it regularly). I would have hoped to have gotten a few years out of it before slippage started, though. Next pad I buy will have a review that says "fits nice and snug and does not slip". Read more

I have a cal king size mattress, but it does not have a pillow top attached so it is very difficult to find mattress pads and sheets that fit. Most sheets and mattress pads are designed to fit very deep mattresses so they tend to be too big for my mattress. This mattress pad definately does not have that problem. It actually seems to be a bit too small for my cal king. However, I decided to keep it for two reasons: a.) because chances are if i sent it back and ordered a different one, the new one would be too big and bunch up; and b.) it's actually very comfortable and adds a lot to the mattress. I would say that, for the price and for what it adds to my mattress, I can live with having to readjust it every morning when I make the bed! Read more

I bought this mattress pad to protect the first bed I ever bought for myself. Honestly, I think it made my bed less comfortable right off the bat but I got used to it. Now for the bad part...My mattress is less than 14" deep, but this just never seemed to fit it right. I'm constantly tugging it down around the mattress and the thin polyester has torn in several spots so it falls off my mattress even more.I also did not like how slick the fabric is. My sheets are constantly sliding off this mattress pad even though they fit my bed perfectly. I'm always slip-sliding around on this thing and am in the market for a new one just a year after I purchased this. Read more

I ordered the matress pad because I also ordered memory foam for my bed and had heard that it could be really hot without something between myself and the foam... I must say, even though the height of the bed plus the height of the memory foam is quite thick... the material to go around the sides and corners is amazing!!! It covers it all and stays put!!! The only very very small concern I had (the reason for giving a 4 on fabric quality) was the top of the pad itself... It wasn't as soft as I would have liked, almost having a stiff feel to it. However, you cannot feel the stiffness through the sheets and therefore I am extremely pleased with the product. A must buy, especially for the price! Read more
