I seem to be a vacuum destroyer. This is the 4th in 5 years. (I've tried consumer reports "best buys" and the windtunnel was one of the worst). This is a switch from upright to canister. I have 3 kids, a large dog and live in the country. Pros: The vacuum is lightweight and portable, simple design is easy to keep clean. Cons: the suction power is not very strong on the carpet head. The overall appearance seems very plastic almost toy like. I'm holding my breath for it to fall apart, but may be tainted from my previous vacuum's performances. I'm going to keep it because it 's not worth the return shipping to try yet another, so if you are looking for a second vac for home, or a vacation home vac, this woud be great. I bought this for the 2nd floor of our new home. The closing date was pushed back 2 by seller, or I would have had time to try it and return it. I can not use it as the handle pulls out of the unit!!!! This is without force, as my 2 year old had pulled it by the handle and the handle comes right out of the base unit. It is cheap and not something that will last. Right now it has been sitting in our closet. The power is not there, and who wants to keep conecting the tube when it falls out over and over again. Waste of money Also the "attachments" fall off, better just to leave them in a closet until you need them. Also junk. Read more

this small but mighty canister vac is simple to assemble use and clean as far as vacuums go Ive had many and this one by far out runs any of them my toughest test is dog hair I have three dogs and a son that tracks the hair from room to room on his feet the fantom is the only one that has actually gotten all the hair off the carprt in only one cleaning I could go on and on just try one. well, i guess i am the oddball, but i love my fantom vac. it is the third one i have owned, and i just ordered the mini model tonight. i will admit the first one was the best, but it was 300. it had a longer cord, but other than that, i am very happy with mine. if it tips over, i set it back up!! and i don't get the cord under it unless i run it backwards, which i haven't done yet.!! I was not pleased with the product. After using it for a couple of weeks it gets REALLY loud.. I have cleaned the filter and done everything that I was told to do to maintain it and it is really really loud.
