My husband and I just bought one. The thing I loved about it instantly was the ease of use. Neither of us have ever used a GPS before and we plugged it into the power outlet and began using it immediately. Not only is it simple to use even before reading the instructions, it took us right to our home address which is not always easy for many to find. The best thing I liked about it was it let me type in the WHOLE address and didn't pre-select one until I was ready. It offered a few choices but when you kept typing it over-rode them. I tried Garmin a few times and I could never get it to over-ride the address it chose for me. This was not a issue with this little GPS. Great text to speech for the money, also included carrying case, Stylus, Car mount, Ubs cable, car charger and regular charger. So far very pleased. Read more

This is the first GPS unit I've ever purchased, and I only purchased it because I received a Radio Shack gift card and the unit was on sale. Upon initial use, it kept powering off while in use. I then discovered that the DC car adapter was intermittent and needed to be replaced. So long as this unit has power or is fully charged it seems to work fairly well and is accurate. Upon first powering up the unit it sometimes takes quite a while to acquire a satellite signal. I really like the idea that if I veer off course either accidentally or intentionally while driving, it will recalculate the route and start giving you new directions from where you are to your destination. Be sure that unit is fully charged prior to using this in your car. If you are driving at high speeds and your windows are open, you will not be able to hear the voice commands. I purchased this navigation system and was very impressed with how easy it was to use. It literally took me 3 minutes to set up and I was well on my way. It is very simple to use. The only complaint I have is that the maps and certain points of interest in NYC ( Brooklyn to be specific) was very outdated. Had the map and points of interest been updated I would definitely recommend this navigation system. Read more

Have had mine for about a week. I couldn't get a GPS signal, even with battery fully charged and outside. Called Nextar. They told me to take it back to Radio Shack; the unit was defective. Before going to RS, I removed the SD card, again. Looked at it very closely and noticed a switch on the side of card. The switch was down, in the write protect mode. I moved it up, the write mode, and put the card back in unit, turned it on (outside) and it worked. Called Nextar tech support and told them. I told the salesman at the RS store. This is one of the best GPS units on the market. I have dealt with Garmin, TomTom, Magellan, and countless other GPS units. If you want a unit that is easy to use right out of the box without looking at instructions, this is a great buy. And the price isn't bad either for this little power unit. Read more
