Just got the fridge 3 days ago and there a few troublesome things. I think if we were able to actually see this fridge displayed in a store we may have had second thoughts. The lower drawers in the fridge cannot be opened more than 3" unless the door is completely swung open. Otherwise, they hit the edge of the door. Oddly enough, the freezer drawers do not have this problem. The cause is that the actual outside wall of the freezer is thicker than the outside wall of the fridge. This puts the freezer drawers further from the door hinge and they gain extra clearance. I'm sure the thicker side wall on the freezer helps with the energy efficiency, but its an obvious design flaw. Also, the ice dispenser throws crushed ice everywhere unless you hold your cup up against the dispenser exit. Regular cubed ice also comes out with velocity too. Purchase a Bosch Stainless Steel Bosch Linea 21.7 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Counter Depth Refrigerator on a Thursday and had it deliver on Saturday. The ice maker did not work. Follow all the instructions in the manual, waited for 24 hours and still no ice. Everything else seen to be working alright. Call Sears for home service repair. Sears came out on the following Thursday. The repair person place an emergency order on another ice maker. They will come out next week to replace the never use ice maker with a newer ice maker. This is a very nice and beautiful refrigerator but since it is a Bosch, I did expect problems with Bosch refrigerators. Always buy a service agreement protection plan when purchasing a Bosch refrigerator, it will come in handy. My kitchen has all Bosch appliances; gas range, dishwaster, microwave, and the Bosch refrigerator. All Bosch and all has a protection plan. I did a lot of research before buying a Bosch refrigerator and thought I was getting something better than my Amana but it is not. The icemaker is a pain in that there is only ever enough ice for one person. It takes forever to make ice. If you have any company at all, you have to buy ice. Also, the interior design is so cramped that it's impossible to store leftovers in even medium sized containers. Less compartments allowing for larger spaces in them would be great. Had trouble already with the valve on the water dispenser and the ice crusher is no longer working. Had it about 16 months. Would not buy it again. Read more
