I've been buying American Telecom's phones since [...] began offering them. Some are absolutely awful (I've thrown some away), some are OK and some are pretty good. This is one of the pretty good ones. While it does not have a headphone jack, it has a reasonably good speaker phone that I have found I like to use. It's also very nice that only one of up to 4 handsets need be connected to a phone line and the others can be programmed to that one base and placed anywhere where there is an electrical outlet that a phone is wanted. It comes with free long distance minutes (activation required for the rebate which makes it free after rebate), and this is nice because I like using those minutes for overseas calling since the rates are very reasonable and the call quality is excellent. All in all, I like this one the best of what I've received from American Telecom and would recommend this model. Read more

This is a great phone, and the Free after Rebate makes it that much better. First off, this is better than other phone brands in which you have to purchase a separate "expandable" handset. These phones can all be used as the base set or the expandable handset (no phone line req'd). The speakerphone is powerful and effective. Its compact (no external antennae). The range is good. Battery life is good. I know previous ATS phones have been garbage, but these I swear are really good. Read more

I bought not expecting much from ATS but this phone actually is pretty good in sound quality. You can't beat the price with or without rebate. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of a phonebook and speed dial (even though ATS' website mistates a 50 number phonebook). If you use a cell phone the phone is very similar in menu structure. Would rate 5 stars if had phonebook. Read more

The product description shows that it has a headset jack - it does NOT! This is critical to be able to use it as a regular phone for a home office. It also has a thin, weak sounding tone. The buttons and stiffness of the plastic case seemed light weight. Even though this phone ended up costing [$], I am taking it back tomorrow morning.
