I have owned this monitor for 15 mons. now and it has been a wonderful purchase. I am extremely happy with this monitor. I am purchasing a second one only because my V-hold ran into some difficulties. I believe because my 9 yr. old daughter had dropped it on the floor. I don't believe we would have had problems with it otherwise. It was going strong until that point. I know with this product I'm getting a good night sleep. We know how important that is with having little ones. I can check on him anytime of the night without having to open the door and disturb his sleep. He sleeps very light so every movement with his door wakes him right up. So, knowing I can check on him while he sleeps helps me do my routine cleaning, step out in the yard, and sleep myself. It also comes in handy when he wants to play in his room and I'm doing my laundry. I have an eye on him at all times. Best buy I guarantee it! Read more

I can't believe the bad reviews of this product! It has been an absolute lifesaver for us. We bring it with us even when we travel! We have two monitors for both of our children. We like to watch our 3 year old in his room and make sure he doesn't get out of his bed at night. And we use it for our infant too. We have multiple floors in our house so it's so reassuring to be able to see our children if we're on the 1st level and not have to trek up to the 2nd or 3rd levels if our children are crying. We just watch the screen and more times than not, our child falls back asleep but it's very comforting to be able to see them while they're tossing and turning. Otherwise, if we could only hear them (like with our old monitors), we'd already be running up their room to soothe them! I disagree with the ratings that state that this product was useless, fuzzy, and had to be used on a farm in the middle of nowhere. We have cordless phones, and numerous different electronic devices. We live in a housing tract that house numerous houses shoved closed together. Every now and then the video will flip, but 9 out of 10 times if you move the antenea you can see through it. 99% of the time the video is clear. I love the fact that you can use lights instead of sound, on both the monitor and the hand held receiver. We have used this product for two years now and the monitor has only recently gone darker (not sure if it is the night vision or the monitor). We can still see through it though it is just a little harder to make out. We still use it. This product is GREAT for training your child to sleep without you. Great product. As with all camera equipment, handle with care or it will break. Some static occurs but can be corrected if you move the antenna or unit around. Cell phones cause static too. This camera has helped me discern when I should and should not go in to my daughter's room. I can see if she is fussy but trying to go to sleep or really in need of my attention. I don't go into her room prematurely anymore. I recommend buying this system. We've been using it since she was a few months. My daughter is now almost 10 months and it still works great. Because of this camera, I have helped my daughter achieve going to sleep on her own while still being put down wide awake. It allowed me to see how she was coping with each step of the sleep process and parent her better. It's also fun to watch her playing in her crib after she wakes up from naps. I bought this used off of Ebay and was a little worried after I read these reviews that I made the wrong decision. But I received it, plugged it in and it works awesome! I moved the monitor in the living room to see if I could a signal and was a little fuzzy, but then I changed the channels and works great! I have WiFi, I have satellite TV and another monitor for movement and there isn't any interference. My house is 1600 Sqft, so it is not too small and the baby's room is next to our room so it is close range, but I did try it in the living room and it was fine. The sound is perfectly clear, no static at all. I love the portable sound monitor, that works great! I have to say I am glad I bought this one. Read more
