I needed to replace my practically new Viking dishwasher which broke beyond repair. I was desperate to find something quiet and durable. I researced consumer reports and epinions and the bosch always rated best. We are large family (mom and dad and 7 children) and we use our dishwasher 2 times a day. I have been very pleased with our bosch and it has exceeded my expectations. The quick wash cleans really well for regular wash. I love the half load cycle and the sanitization cycle. It is very user friendly...my kids load and start (even my 4 year old). Can't say enough good things. Read more

Poor Drying Brings This Model Down

There is no heated dry so plastics are safe. Unfortunately if you open up the washer right after the cycle is done everything will be wet-period! The only way around this is to use the heated rinse {less energy efficient} and wait overnight before opening; then most items will be thermally dry except the plastics which still drip. Definitely the poor drying is the most glaring flaw in this model.

I found my old GE easier to load than the Bosch. There is just no easy way to load bowls efficiently. Also half of the silverware holder is half depth. After a month I am still trying to figure out an efficient way to load everything.

Remember there is no three prong power cord supplied so that requires a trip down to the hardware store-another hassle. The baseboard is about 1 1/2 inch further back than my last washer. Therefore, there was a tile gap {very noticeable} that had to be filled in. Luckily we have a friend who is a flooring man who fixed that for free.

I absolutely love this dishwasher! It was replaced by a standard GE model. I love the fact that it has 2 wash arms, half load option and delayed start. The tines fold down nicely to accomodate odd shaped pots and pans (which I do have and use daily). It is huge! Even after a full day of dirty dishes, I find myself rummaging for more dishes to fill in it.

Make sure it is installed by professionals (I did), as I hear the European models require more work.

The dishes do come out nice and hot and dry. The cycles are extremely long but I understand that it doesn't take energy at the end of the cycle, rather uses condensation heat to dry, therefore saving energy costs.

My particular model states $14 yearly energy cost, which is great! Read more

I've heard raves about the Bosch dishwashers from different family members, and it really does work wonders. Stained coffee cups that used to be hand scrubbed with no avail are now miraculously clean. I was hesitant to buy a dishwasher where I'd have to empty the food grinder, but I've checked it several times and there's nothing in it (although we don't load dishes with big food scraps). I thought I'd want the model with the towel bar style handle and hidden controls, but in retrospect, I may have considered the Bosch models where you can see the controls so you know how much time is left before it's finished. I don't usually watch the clock to see when the dishwasher will be done, but if you are that type, you may consider the models with the controls displayed on the front. Overall I'm very happy with the looks, quietness, and performance of this dishwasher. Read more

Great Dishwasher. Very well made, quiet and sleek - it cleans great. The laser dot on the floor letting you know it's on (nearly silent during it's last cycle) is not only useful, but a great conversation piece. One word of caution - you may need to buy an extra long dishwasher line as it hooks in the front of the dishwasher and needs to wrap behind. This seems odd until you discover how handy it is not to have to pull the whole thing out to troubleshoot a leak. Go Bosch! - Just another little detail they thought of. Read more
