Now that we just converted the crib over to, which I thought was a toddler bed, isn't so great. The rail that you put on just hold the mattress in place and that is it. My only complaint is that it stands too tall. I'm about 5'4" and the front rail hits my chest. It is big, so they have enough room to move around and it is very sturdy. I agree it is a little tall, but I don't think it is a big deal.
