This refrigerator is great looking and very functional for our life style but I would have rated it much higher if it didn't choke on us so quicly. The first six months were fine but our ice maker quick working at that time. We were told to change the water fliter and after a couple of days it worked but the ice maker is not the best we have seen. Well exactly one month after one year of use the electronic display started flashing and the ice control flapper drove us crazy opening and closing continuously. We too got the run around when we called the Sears warranty department (GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY). We where told it would be a week before the next available appointment and we had to empty our entire fridge so we could turn the breaker off because the noise and flashing lights drove us crazy. We put all our goods in coolers for a week. The repair mans arrived and told my wife that this is typical and we should have been contacted by a technician to tell us how to disconect the comp … Read more

I reviewed the other review on this site and though I am sure they have true issues with their refridgerator, I thought that a positive review was also in order. We love this refridgerator. It has a ton of space for everything. The layout of the interior is great the ammeities exceeded our expectations! Not to pick on the other review, but it is important to remember that the Maytag did stand behind their product even though the other persons refridgerator was over 2 years old (warrenty period is 1 year). If you are looking for a stylish, state of the art refridgerator with tons of room and a great layout this is it! Maytag has always made a great product and I think this refridgerator embodies what you would expect of the brand! Read more

If I could have rated this until with zero stars I would. We've had this frig for less that 5 months. About 2 months into owning this thing, it started freezing the contents of the refrigerator section. Then it wouldn't. And this would repeat. On Christmas night, it decided to do it again. Called to have it serviced. I can't tell you how many hundreds of dollars of food that have been ruined since we've had this unit. After ordering a part, the serviceman "fixed" the problem, but didn't want to stay until the frig changed to the proper temp. It wasn't fixed. Called again for service. That day instead of coming to service the frig, I received a call that a bunch of parts were going to be ordered. Two days before the service appointment, I was called and told that a number of the parts are on back order and couldn't tell me when they would be available. I have never written a review before because I didn't believe in damagaing any merchandiser's reputation, BUT THIS REFRIGERATOR IS THE WORST APPLIANCE THAT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. The refrigerator keeps freezing all my food. I have already had a repair man to my home over 4 times and have had the PC board changed, rubber seals changed, told to " but certain items in certain areas of the refrigerator and not to use to top shelf as it resticts the air flow of the refrigerator" If I can not use all the shevles given to me with the refrigerator than the refrigerator is useless and not holding the amount of food required for this size refrigerator. Not to mention, the money and time loss from work to stay home and wait for the repair man week to week, part to another part. Sadly to say, I have never really read customer reviews before my purchases as I have always believed in the name brand items I was purchasing.
