If you want burners with quick, very powerful output, excellent low-temp performance, good grates, a useable grill, large and well-placed controls, a generous oven with a second warmer or different-heat oven, and excellent value for money, this is your stove.

It also looks very nice in our no-nonsense, but modern and stylish kitchen.

I cook every day, mostly on the burners. Lots of wok cooking, vegetables, seared meat and fish. Occasional large roasts and fowl in the oven, not much baking. Our old stove (I emphasize OLD) was a 1942 Wedgewood with burners that produced 8-inch high blue flames that were fabulous for wok cooking and quick boiling. I spent weeks researching stoves that could compare. Far too many of those pro-look stoves are cosmetic fakes, and far too many are ridiculously overpriced. The GE had more Btu output on the front burners, and better design and operation for home use.

Installation was easy. The oven temp is dead on. The oven vent nostrils (and part of

Overall I'm happy, but there are problems. I would give the stove a 3 1/2 if I could. I think it's good for the $$, but wish I could have sprung for a Wolf or Blue Star. Or maybe Jenn Air. Here are my issues with it:The high output burners are great, but both are up front so if you want to simmer something on low heat (they don't do low heat well), it needs to be on the back burners - a better design would have been to have one high output burner in front and one in back. The oven fan is noisy (not terrible but not silent)and continues to blow 15 minutes or so after the oven is turned off. When it blows, the exhaust lets out directly in the path of the back burners, so it blows the flame all over. This means that when the fan is blowing you can't really use the back burners that effectively. The center burner only works with the griddle, the flame is too low to effectively heat a pan for sauteing. This is my biggest complaint - I was hoping to be able to have three pans going at the same

I bought the GE Café 30” Dual-Fuel Range, and I do not recommend it. Many of the features of this range are very nice. I like the convection oven. I like the center griddle. I like the simmer burner. I like the way it looks. However, the front right burner is almost unusable. This range costs way too much money to have an unusable burner, especially one in the most convenient cooking position. [...]Here is the problem with my range:The front right burner has a numbered scale on it and is labeled "Power Boil" at the high end, followed by Hi, 8, 6, 4, 2, Lo. When you first turn on the burner, it is in the Power Boil setting, and the flame is very, very high so that you can rapidly boil water, which is great. When you turn it down to Hi, the flame drops some from the Power Boil setting, but is still very high, like you would expect. As you continue to turn the knob, the problem begins. As you turn down from Hi, the flame drops in size very quickly so that it is almost down to nothing by t

[...] Looks great in the kitchen! The instructions could have been a little better, esp. for the convection cooking as we've not had that before. I frequently need to point 3 gallons of water and this does a great job, in fact I wouldn't want it any hotter as the spoon I was using started to melt when I left it in the solution (lots of sugar). So much better than the last electric we had, even tho' it was a very nice electric range (2 years ago)-, it's like comparing a 50's VW to a 2000's VW. We haven't use the oven a great deal, but have done several roasts, chicken, potatoes etc. Does a great job. Used the probe... absolutely perfect. My only worry is that the display gets very very hot went using the oven. The last dish as at 375 deg. with convection on, and the glass/plastic on the touch pad was too hot to hold your finger on. Not that you need to hold your finger there... it was just too hot to be comfortable, i.e. you would stab at the buttons so you didn't 'roast' your finger.S

GE Fixed the problem of the vent disturbing the flames of the back burners by tilting the vent slightly up. I love the power boil feature. You can boil a pasta pot in half the time and make tea in a flash. My only complaint is that the smallest burner is still quite large so you need large bottom pots and pans. Pancakes on the griddle are awesome. I am quite happy with our purchase of this stove. Read more
