I have always dreaded the chore of ironing (who doesn't?), but, as a working professional had to either iron my own clother, or put up with expensive trip to the dry cleaner. Then I came across the Smartek Steamer ST-X2 while shopping at my facorite store. It's the wrinkle - removing steamer that the professionals use, and it has literally changed my life. No longer do I have to haul out the ironing board - now, in just minutes, I effortlessly steam away wrinkles, and my clothes look dry-cleaner fresh. Everyone needs one of these in their home.
This is a fantastic piece of equipment. I researcahed steamers for weeks before purchasing, and finally settled on this one becaused it had the best reviews. They were well deserved! This product takes less than 2 minutes to produce lots of steam. The metal hook where you hang your garment is sturdy, allowing for better steaming, and it is easy to remove and fill the water container. Also, this removes wrinkles after one slow swipe with the stea

I have never used a steamer before so I thought I'd give this one a try based on the previous reviews! I love it!! It is fast and easy to use! I have had no trouble at all with the hose not being flexible enough -- it does just what I need it to do and it has plenty of length to get to all parts of my garments. I have used it on my fine fabrics and even my husbands cotton shirts -- they do take a little more time but still faster and easier than the iron -- no need to even take them off the hanger!! I leave it set up in the laundry room ready to plug in when I need it -- fast 30 econd start-up! I even have time to do my garments on those mornings when I'm running late! I think there is still a need for an iron for a crisp look -- but for everyday ease and speed this product delivers!! I hope you enjoy your steamer as much as I enjoy mine!! Read more

I received my steamer and tried it today. It does work great on sweaters, delicate fabrics, rayon dresses, skirts, anything with sequins, beads, etc. I actually love the fact it sanitizes as well. I want to use it on my furniture (2 small dogs, kids) just to kill germs and get rid of smells without chemicals and such. My only BIG complaint is the hose length. Yes, it would be great for touch ups on drapes and curtains IF you can reach them. The hose really needs to be about 2 feet longer. I also thought the wrinkle release would go faster (one pass kind of thing) but you sometimes need to go over the area several times where an iron is a one pass deal. Otherwise, heats up fast and hot. I still need the iron for a crisp shirt and pants for my husband but works great on other fabrics. Read more

I purchased this steamer for items that I could never put an iron to and to avoid professional steaming costs. Well, I plugged it in today and got started on several items... it works great! All my items came out wrinkle-free after I finished. I did not experience any shut-offs. However, while steaming the first garment, I did get water spots on the garment, but after that one, I did not experience it with any other garments. The only things that I do not like about the steamer, is the top portion of the pole. The base and mid-section are pretty sturdy, but the top section of the pole had to be tightened a couple of times. Also, I wish the hose was a little longer. Overall, it's good buy. I would definitely recommend this item. Read more

I specifically bought this steamer to do my drapes and it worked smoothly. You have to be careful with hose to avoid any tangling. I tried it on a few shirts and it worked fine, but took longer than using an iron. Nevertheless, I give it 5 stars for doing shear drapes and light shirts. Anything that is 100% cotton or thick material would benefit more from an iron. Works well on dress shirts. If you follow directions as indicated, it will not shut off; It is very hot, so you need to use extreme caution. Seems sturdy as well. I recommend it for light articles of clothing and drapes! Read more
