The information in the book should be taken into consideration, but definitly do your own research. After reading the book I did decide to go vegan and am looking into fasting, but also, there is much more to be concidered. Please research the proper way to read nutrition information on lables. They are very misleading!!! This book opened my eyes to proper eating and has thrown me into further reasearch on health and nutrition. I do highly recommend the book. I did not know that it would encourage veanism though. Read more

Skinny B#@!% was SO NOT what I expected. The story contains lots of explicit language which does not bother me at all... but some people may be offended. The authors are brutally "honest" and don't hold back at all. I enjoyed the overall message of the book but do not necessarily agree with all the practices and beliefs the authors promote.Ultimately, it's a decent book that made me laugh. I'd recommend for a long flight or beach read. Read more

I originally bought this book after having coworkers read some of the quirky excerpts to me...I thought "this is hilarious!" so I bought it. First & foremost, it is not about being a B-word (the "Reviewer" & Overstock won't let me write the B-word), or about being Skinny, it is about being healthy. It is written to educate, from a very sassy point of view about the food industry so you can make informed choices about what you choose to put into your body. Unlike many other "diet" books, it is simply written and keeps your attention without a lot of mumbo-jumbo. It tells you about an item, where it comes from, how it came to be in your market, gives you information as to what it does once in your system & why you should eat it, or stay away from it. It debunks many food myths as well. I LOVE that it informs people about the farming industry. I have been a vegetarian for a year & now moving towards vegan after reading this book. Since going "veg" I have never felt better! I have more ene

After reading this book it will never make you want to eat again. The authors basically make almost every food very very negative. The authors basically promote people to become purely vegetarian. Reading this book did not really give me too much information on how to eat healthy. I am 5'4 and weighs 125 lbs, I believe eating everthing in moderation is the way to go. The only thing I like about this book is that it is very very funny. Read more

After reading the book, I felt that it was informative on some levels while not so much on others. Overall rating I give the book 4 stars. I was in the process of becoming vegan due to doctors orders before I read the book. After reading the book I found that most of it was common knowledge, but people tend not the think about while they are making choices on the type of food they are putting in their body. The entertainment value of the book is 5 stars. I found the use of the language and blunt in your face attitude is exactly what people need to get up and change. Some of the informative value was a little fiffy, but if you are the type of person who does independent research to make your own conclusion then you would already know that some research is bias. I would recommend this book as long as you do more research and speak to your doctor or a nutritionist before you decide if becoming vegan is right for you. Read more
