I have a few words on the sound. If your going to buy a great big 65 inch TV with 1080(P) 120 refresh rate the common person would or should have a sound system to go with it. The set back of feet that you should be away from the TV while sitting and watching TV is too big of an area for a flat panel TV to deliver great sound. If the TV company's put the effort and the money into putting the greatest speakers into there TV's the price would go up a few hundred and bass that's would be another story. Read more

I don't think there are very many 65" LCD televisions on the market at this point. This TV is HUGE and amazingly lighter than a 35" plasma TV. There are a wealth of connections in the rear and side of the unit that will accommodate a multitude of components. The only weird thing is the "new electronic equipemnt in the house" smell is reminiscent of Lysol disinfectant. I'm not sure if the odor is caused by the plastic packaging that enveloped the TV while in storage or if the TV just stinks. For 65" of HDTV, I can put up with the smellies! P.S. J&R rocks! I have purchased many items from them [...] Read more

Mounted this puppy on the wall and it is the most fantastic tv around. Watched the NCAA finals and spent more time looking at the crowd due to the crispness and clarity. Would buy again. Best price around from a recognized and respected dealer. Read more

Originally, my wife and I were looking at the 120 Hz refresh rate version of the Sharp 65" LCDs. It was to be a replacement for a battle worn Sony 57" XBR2 RPTV that Sony had no interest in repairing, albeit 8 years old. Given the fact that the 120 Hz refresh rate model was $2K to $3k more money (depending on coupon and price match combination) we took a chance on this set. Actually, the more expensive set was not in stock and my truck was ready to take a TV home, so this model followed me home. And boy, am I going to keep it! First a confession, I don't watch any sports programming at all, so the higher refresh rate that supposedly mitigated an LCD weak point of artifacts on quick moving pictures was not an issue. While it's more expensive brother had a higher reported contrast, it is essentially the same set (inputs etc.)
We spent a lot of the salesman's time who was beyond patient with us as we waffled around, even considering the Pioneer Kuro (which my wife did not like due to the
