The lead glides on the page unlike other pencils. The strokes are smooth and the eraser acutally erases without other marks. You can give me 100 other pencils and I will be happy with one of the Dixon Ticonderoga's. Besides, one the great battles of the American Revolution was fought at Ticonderoga! What could be more patriotic than using their pencils. Read more

I homeschool 4 kids and have tried just about every brand of pencil there is. We have discovered that NONE of the other brands sharpens as well, writes as well, or erases as well. The slight increase of price over other brands is WELL worth it. Read more
