I really like gel pens and looked everywhere for refills - finally found them here at Staples. These appear to be identical to the original ink supplies and write just as smooth and easy as the original. I am curious why they are so hard to find, but in my search I noticed that very few stores carry refills for any pens. Refills should cost significantly less than the original pen - but they don't. I've used G-2 Pilot pens and refills for about 3-4 years and have been pleased with the smoothness of writing, the relatively quick drying of the ink unless I write on shiny paper where it might take 5 minutes for complete drying, and the ease in changing refills. Refills also last for a surprisingly long time, over a month with my use. I have no difficulty in recommending this pen and refills to others. Read more

I use red pens to grade students' papers but have never found either red or blue Pilot Pens to equal their black pens in either quality of writing or endurance. It is embarrassing to be writing on a student's paper and see the red ink grow fainter and fainter. The black pens are the best but I don't care for any of the refills. Read more

Best combo of smoothness & line quality

Used to write for hours at a time with good smoothness and great visibility of lines. Use it with the Q7 type pen that is light and fits hand well. Would like all pens to have metal clip so they don't break over time. Would like ink to smear less when touched, dry faster, and not run when touched by water. Read more

I was so pleased to find out I could buy refills for the Pilot G2 Gell Rollerball Pen. The ink glides on the paper and doesn't smear, even for this left hander. The pen is so comfortable, I can write for hours at a time. Read more
