REVIEW: Prior to purchasing this size iPod, I did a thorough research of it. I look at Apple.com, reviews through [...], etc. I was keenly aware of the fact that the service, screen and backing of the silver iPod would be easily scratched. I knew that "160GB" did not mean it would be "exactly" 160GB due to the conversion of bytes. Mathematically, it just does not add up. You actually get 149GB on this size iPod. I am looking for the next generation to come out and hoping for, in the near future, for something this size to hold 1 TB, then I will be even happier, because I can put all of my music on it. Yes I have that many tunes.PROS: It is a nice product for music, videos, podcast, sound, and somewhat ease of controls. having recieved a touch and marveling at its abilities,iwas was tempted and bought a classic as my music inventory is much bigger than the 16 gigs (14.5 available). since ive recieved it and loaded my whole library on it,iv used it on a couple of long driving trips with an fm adapter and its real nice to be able to pick any song you want to hear with hassling with a bunch of cd's. and i have a few movies on it(could do the same with the touch ,just not as much)which help kill the empty times we all have from time to time. im thinking with the addition of a cable or two,i could avoid taking dvds with me as well to kill those rainy days in fishing camp. the screen is ok for watching movies and videos,but its much better to be able to share on a bigger screen with others.and being able to also carry some files around sounds pretty good to me.dont really need that sort of thing but it can be done with it.other than a fairly high price tag,i cant really find any thing wrong with it. one … Read more

Pros: Lots of storage,Lots of addons for it like new skins speakers and tons of other stuff you cant get for other mp3/4 players its pretty rugged compared to my old RCA with broke in less then 6 months. Cons: iTunes .. We all hate iTunes. You cant use it on two computers without deleteing all your tunes first , I guess they figure that will stop pirating but you can always get your buddys tunes off his pc with a DVD+/- RW toss em onto your pc and go from there Read more

It took me a long time and a ton of research to finally give in and buy this thing. Everything about it, all of the features, etc., work great. The syncing options, the non-syncing options, the extras; I've been very impressed. I use my ipod a lot to learn Spanish, whether it is from a book on CD that I ripped or a podcast. I enjoy the bookmarking features of the audiobooks and podcasts very much. Apple's website with it's tutorials and help section doesn't get any better. I recieved my ipod for my birthday in September, it is the best gift i have ever recieved. I havent had any problems with it freezing up (as did the last reviewer) I have over 2000 songs, 15 movies, and about 200 pictures on my ipod! I LOVE IT! Just wish the accessories weren't so expensive. I am buying another two more for my daughters! Read more
