comfy but the wheels break

A comfortable chair good for those who sit a lot, nice to switch to sometimes, keeps you in a good position. However the plastic wheels have plastic locks on them that lock easily and accidentally. when this happens and you try to roll they'll break, especially if there's a ridge on the floor or if you're on carpet. They are special wheels so you can't just grab some new casters at the hardware store, you have to order them. Gaiam does carry them at [$]. The ball is smaller than regular excercise balls, so unless you're very short it won't double as a good excercise ball for you. Good for the spine though, nice for seated stretching. I would recommend this to a friend with a smooth floor who did a lot of sitting at a desk and had back or hip pain because of it, or didn't want to get back or hip pain. Read more

I have to sit at a desk all day on the computer and I sit on this chair at my job ALL the time! I've been using it about 3 years now. I have lumbar and knee problems and it really helps build up my quads to keep my kneecaps aligned. It's also the perfect height for my keyboard drawer.

It takes some getting used to (build up gradually - don't try 8 hours the first day) and I find it helps to stand up and stretch every hour.

The only minor compliant is that I do have to be careful with smooth dresses as I tend to slide on it a little when wearing them. Also, if the skirt is too long, it gets caught in the wheels at times. Read more

This chair is a great way to tone your core muscles while just typing away at work. However, if you have long legs you will tend to blow the ball up more which becomes butt-numbing after awhile. It's difficult to get right so I alternate with my static work chair. It helps my lower back problems by encouraging proper sitting posture. Definitely better than a regular chair. Except the caster locks lock up all the time so you can't roll around without reaching down and unlocking them. Read more

This incredible chair is relieving back stress and improving my posture. I sit at a desk eight hours daily doing computer work and taking phone orders. There must be an ergonomic component to this design because my entire body feels much better at day's end than it ever did with conventional chairs. I like the balancing ball chair so much I will probably purchase a second chair for home use. Read more

I purchased a balance ball chair for my office because of severe neck pain. The chair forces me to keep an anterior pelvic tilt causing my neck to be aligned. I no longer have neck pain! It is great! Thank You Read more
