I have five home educated children, that said we've had all sorts of big plastic easels over the years and they've always ended up on the deck outside. This one is perfect for us. Putting it together and taking it apart is no trouble, my 6yr old can do it alone.I've had no trouble with the sturdiness of this product, it is a bit tall for my 4yr. old but perfect for even my 11. I really like how easily it fits into a closet and unlike someone mentioned it need not be completely disassembled. It folds much like a soccer chair, add the two legs (no tools required), snap the easel board together (yes there is a seem), and attach your paper. Clips are also provided then larger sheets of paper can be used. This has pockets for markers, crayons, scissors, tape, etc. and it all folds up nicely into the carrying case.Extras I like; the board is wipe on wipe off, it folds to about the size of a child's travel chair, and it has a large enough tray for a few paint jars. I bought this easel for my 8 year old for Christmas 2007. He still loves it, almost 2 years later. We have put it away and put it back together again several times. It is very easy to do. Only takes a couple minutes. If you are having trouble taking it down and putting it back up, then you are not doing it right. Yes, the FIRST time you put it together it takes some time, but after that it is a breeze. Nothing has broken and our two writing surface are still flush with each other. Order your replacement paper directly from Mega Brands. Would highly recommend, especially if you want to save space. Read more

I love this easel.......not hard to put together.....any idiot can figure it out! Lightweight...wide base for stability. As for the "impossible to find" paper role.....you can buy them at staples or a craft store... my daughter is two and I chose to buy the color wonder color sheets and markers and just clip the paper up there and let her color-that way the marker doesnt get on anything else! I bought this for my daughter because the design looked really cool. What a mistake. First of all she's 3 (yes, younger than the recommended age)and she likes to color on everything. Even though the markers are "washable" they will stain the metal rods and the storage basket underneath. If you plan on trying to break this thing down to travel with it you better take the assembly instruction with you. You pretty much have to take the entire thing apart to get it in the travel bag. Needless to say I took it back and got a sturdy dependable art easel. Read more
