I bought this coffee maker for its color and style and basically love it, but it has two drawbacks: the lid is tricky -- if you don't get it on just right (which is hard to do), it falls off easily, and the chamber you pour the water into has too small an opening -- it's difficult to fill using the coffee pot. This coffee maker is easy to use and has some great features. We noticed a huge taste difference between regular paper filters and the gold filter that comes with this model. When the coffee is brewing, the maker is a little loud but nothing you can't deal with. You won't be disappointed. Read more

I use this coffee maker at least once and sometimes 3 times a day and it always brews a great cup of coffee. I find it easy to use, easy to clean and I love the programmable feature. Filling the reservoir using the carafe is a little awkward, but this is also true of the other coffee makers that I have owned. Since I always use bottled water it is much easier to use the 1 quart container to pour from; it’s quick, easy and you’ll never spill a drop. Read more

In my opinion, this coffee maker is the best all around model you can buy. I had to finally replace my old one due to not only the smaller capacity pot, but also to the fact that it just didn't brew/drip properly...took way too long. This model, however, is fast and reliable. I would highly recommend this model if you're looking for a good quality coffee maker that has automatic brew settings. Also, the carafe is a large capacity, which makes it great for when guests are over, or for pouring the unused coffee into a container for the refrigerator to make iced coffee. The only reasons I can see someone looking at a different model is if they are looking for the insulated carafe, or the combo grind and brew function. If those are not important to you, than definitely get this coffee maker!! It's absolutely perfect! Read more

This coffee maker does make good coffee, BUT it's done before you can finish cleaning up the mess from spilled water and coffee grounds. What a nasty design. The no drip carafe is not that at all and the fill area is so badly located at the rear of the machine's top that water spills over the side, into the filter area and all over everything. On top of that the carafe cannot be completely emptied into the reservoir without holding the carafe above the lid, about 10" away from the very small hole. It leaves about a full cup in the carafe, unless you spilled it out already. The LCD digital clock is NOT backlit and so cannot be read except by bending over and staring at it closely. I called Cuisinart Customer support about it and they said the clock is like that to save money on the design. Thanks. The programming control switch is also hard to read without bending over.
