The BCD3000 Mixer driver is NOT MS Vista supported, if you call or go to the Behringer website, you will find that they don't even make Vista compatible USB/AISO drivers for this unit!

To make matters worse, even if you figure out how to install the XP drivers with the known workaround, the BCD3000 unit & Traktor LE software together will suffer from huge USB latency issues where the sound either drops out or Tracktor freezes completely.

Another negative is that since I maintain a HUGE music library of well over 150,000+ MP3s, Traktor LE cant handle the load, nor can many programs for that matter.

And lastly, IF you get this unit, be sure to use a separate external powered USB hub if you plan to use other USB devices at the same time, i.e. external Hard drives. I had a system freeze and saw my first ever Vista "blue screen of death" while trying to use two USB hard drives and the BCD3000 at the same time.

This could be a great unit *IF* it worked right. I have two computer

The BCD3000 is a cheap but honest device. It does what it says, with a little research you can to even more than it says, but it takes a time to dig for the answers. Behringer's support is just awful (as usual), so you must dig for workarounds if you're intended to do something that differs from it's original purpose (for instance, you'll need some small tunning to use it with the full version of Traktor 3, not the bundled LE). It has an acceptable audio quality and externally it doesn't look cheap. The jog is too small for scratching but hey, digital scratching sucks even if you had a pad of the size of a LP. If you want to scratch, get yourself a pair of MK2s. Read more

My last dj set up was a couple of Technics 1200 MKII's and a Rane. The transition to mixing with the BCD-3000 and Traktor LE was seamless, and the price to do so was even better! I am having a blast, and I haven't had any problems with the device at all. I am using Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron Laptop.
Pros:
a.) I love the FX (Delay, Filter, Reverb, Flanger) that Traktor offers and the control that you have over those FX with the BCD-3000. b.) Once I familiarized myself with where all of the knobs and sliders were, and what they all did, then everything became very intuitive.
c.) The looping that BCD-3000/Traktor LE has is super cool. I had never used loops before in mixing, but it does open up a whole new door to creation within the mix and setting cue points that can be jumped/looped back to instantly.
d.) The Traktor LE software is very simple, clean, and intuitive; plus it integrates with iTunes playlists which was a simple and cool feature.

I was able to, without any prior experience, DJ with the BCD3000 right out of the box with the included Traktor 3 LE Program. The midi controller has tight integration with the included software, and is very responsive and pretty easy to use. Sadly, the drivers were unreliable with my computer (a thinkpad x60s with windows xp). If I unplugged the BCD3000, getting it functioning again would often require reinstalling the drivers and re-calibrating the sound card settings. However, this usually took only a couple minutes, and the sound quality and responsiveness were enough to make up for its shallow pitfalls. Read more
