We love this cage!!! Our puppy is ""long"" but still kinda small, she's 8 months so she is full grown at 24lbs but she never would lay in her cage the long way, she'd go in, turn a 1/4 way around, and flop her long body down the short side of the cage. Her ear would come out the side, her bottom would be curled under, but she always laid in that orientation to the way she entered it. Now, we have this new cage so that the width is the long part & are using the 2nd door on the long side. It's perfect for her!!!! She looks soooo much more comfortable in it & lays in her cage when she doesn't even have to be in it :) Read more

I bought this crate to crate train my puppy. I had been trying to do it on my own and he wouldnt stop going all over the house. The first day I put him in this he managed to push the tray right out, and go to the bathroom all over my carpet underneath. Defeated the purpose of getting a crate. This could be a great crate if they found a way to secure the bottom pan to the rest of the cage. It just pushes right out the front. Read more

I love this crate! Izzie, my puppy, loves this crate too! It is so easy to set up. All you have to do is unfold it. It comes with a divider so that you can make the sleeping space smaller. This is great for housetraining your puppy. In fact, this is why I bought the crate. As she grows it can accommodate her. There is no going through different sized crates or buying ones that you have to put a cardboard box in the back to make the space smaller then have to deal with cleaning up the cardboard mess that your puppy made chewing its way to the other side to eliminate itself. Izzie has yet to have an accident in her crate (knock on wood). You can unfold the crate and take it with you on trips, which we do a lot of. It has a removable handle so you can place it on top of the crate while up for easy portability or you can place it on the side when folded up to carry. It also has an accident pan that can be removed and cleaned easily for any accidents that may occur. Lastly, it has two doors

I recently ordered a Midwest Lifestages Double Door Fold & Carry Crate to house my elderly mother's newly-adopted stray cat. Mom needed a secure indoor place to safely confine the cat following spaying and until it became used to its new home. In setting up the crate, I placed the extra divider panel in a horizontal position at one end of the cage, forming an upper ""shelf"" for the cat's bedding. This allowed extra room on the floor of the crate for the litter pan, food and water bowls, and movement. The plastic crate liner catches any bits of litter and any spills, and it slips out for easy cleaning. Having doors on both the side and the end of the crate allows convenient access to all areas. Because of the unique hinged design, the crate was easy to assemble following the enclosed instructions, and NO tools were needed. I was thrilled with the ease of online ordering from PETCO, the great special online price, the free shipping, the fast (3-day! ) delivery, and the exceptional quali

This is a nice cage and works well for my relatively calm dog. But a determined dog could easily bend the wire. The wire is a bit thin and the grid spacing is fairly wide. This cage is advertised as ""Value Priced.""

If you have a dog who wants to break out, then best to get Midwest Lifestages Ultima series of fold and carry crates. Ultima series are made of heavier gauge wire and grid spacing is much closer together. I own one of those cages, too.

For either product line, save the box. I cut the cardboard down to size to place inside the cage under the plastic tray. The plastic tray needs more support than just resting on a few wires on the bottom. The dog's weight will cause the tray to flex excessively (and possibly break) without more support.

All-in-all, this is a nice cage. I like that it has 2 doors. Just remember to factor in dog's habits if considering buying this product. This one might be fine or you might want to step up to the Ultima series (sold by other vendors).
