i'm baffled by people saying this is hard to set up. you don't even need software and just transfer songs from your media player. it's the easiest mp3 player i've ever used. for the price it's a really great value for the amount of song storage and sound quality you get. i could see how the control button to move to the next song or control the volume might be a bit touchy, especially for guys with bigger fingers, but it's really not complicated at all. i haven't had any problems putting songs from any sites on the player. and with over 100 songs on there right now, i've barely made a dent in the available space. i actually like the fact that i don't have to recharge this player at my computer. i just buy rechargable batteries and always have a few in the charger and a spare on me, which is a lot more convenient for me since i'm always on the go. Read more

[...]it has pretty good sound quality, putting songs on the thing is as simple as plugging it into a USB port and then dragging and dropping songs onto it. I wasn't super impressed with the build quality, but it's not terrible. Also navigating through the songs is a bit of a pain because I'm used to selecting the artist I want to listen to and then the album and then the song, on this you just select from all the songs at once, so if you have a lot of songs it can take a while to find the specific song you're looking for. Also it would have been nice if you could recharge the battery instead of having to stick in a new AAA every time it runs out of juice, but hey, you get what you pay for and this thing's pretty cheap. Read more

I have a long commute (100 miles), so I plug this into my car's cassette player using a "CD Player Cassette Adapter" so I have tunes between radio stations and in dead spots.

For that purpose, it's very good. Turn it on, it starts playing right where it left off when you turned it off.

I really like the "timeout" on turn-off, so that inadvertent button presses don't accidentally turn it off!

The screen is a bit small for my old eyes, so setup of the different modes is a bit of a pain. Luckily, it's mostly set and forget.

This is NOT an IPOD - it's an MP3 Player! Why anyone would pay hundreds of dollars for the opportunity to give Apple MORE of their money is beyond me.... Read more

This was an inexpensive MP3 player. I've had several of them with always larger storage. This one has similar functionality and features as the others. I like the fact that it uses standard AAA batteries. You can carry extra on long plane rides and never run out of juice.

However, even at maximum volume, the sound is not very loud. And I'm over 50 and not one of those who likes really loud music. I mostly listen to Podcasts of talk shows. If you are in a quiet environment, this will work fine, but if you need lots of power, look elsewhere. Read more

Got this for Christmas. Found it pretty easy to use, although not sure if I would bother with the "35 free downloads" again... veryyyyy small selection of heard-of songs, but I did manage to find 20 songs to download for free from the [...] website (took about 2 hours to find them). Manual isn't too great on this little player but if you're a little computer savvy you can figure it out. Good song, good value. Easy to use, I self-taught myself in about a half hour. Read more
