I have used this product for 11 months. Uptmost is the quality of the coffee that it brews, whether I use a store brand or a gourmet bean! I am also pleased with it's compactness and that it is visual pleasing and not obtrusive, therefore, I have no qualms about leaving the unit on my countertop, complimenting my kitchen decor! I love the filter insert and the ease of cleaning. Another great feature are the raised water level indicators which are extemely easy to read. Read more

This could be a neat little coffee pot, but it really misses the mark. As the other reviews say, it does not stay hot since the auto-shutoff clicks off after what seems like 8 minutes. If you don't drink the coffee right away,you will have to heat it back up in the microwave. ALSO - my biggest problem with this machine is that the coffee pot DRIPS every time you either fill up the machine, or pour the coffee into your cup. I have to lay out a towel every time I fill the machine, or else my counter gets totally soaked. There is some design flaw in the pitcher or the lid that makes it drip when you pour it. So annoying that I am going to return this machine tomorrow. Also, they say it is a 4-cup machine, but realistically, you should expect to get about 2 smallish mugs full out of it. This is a great machine for the money. Most of the complaints I read elsewhere I found baseless. The carafe does not dribble when pouring, it either goes in the cup or stays in the carafe. Of course it is a delicate machine with plastic parts. [...] It would only break if some clumsy oaf treats it like a football. It is well put together and the water shower over the coffee makes the coffee taste excellent. I also bought the gold filter so I don't have to mess with paper filters. The lid only comes off the carafe, it isn't hinged, which takes two hands but is not annoying once you accept that. This brewer and the coffee bean grinder take up no more space than a regular 12 cup coffee brewer and this makes better tasting coffee when making 4 cups. I was nervous having a smaller brewer in case I had to make coffee for more people than myself, but this makes a pot so quickly (5 minutes or less) that you can keep making more if needed and the wait isn't unreasonable. What can i say. A few years ago my brother purchase a cuisinart coffee maker for our mother. The coffee it makes comes out the best. So when i had to replace my coffee maker. I knew i wanted the Cuisinart Coffee maker for my apartment.Living in a small space. I wanted a small coffee maker.Once i so this at the Macys store. I had to buy it. The price was just right for my buget.and it makes great coffee too. From now on i'm just purchasing Cuisinart products for myself and gifts. Despite following all the manufacturer's suggestions about brewing, the coffee tasted bitter. ( The instructions gave several ways to brew without bitterness, which made me wonder if there had been problems in the past.) We used our usual coffee and water. Read more
