1/4 cup of thermal carafe was unuseful becasue can not indicate water level. I can not use thermal carafe as a mesuring cup. Lukewarm coffee, It was only 148 degree after finish brewing. By standard of SCAA should be atleast 200 degree. I have to warm the pot before brew. Why offered automatic time set up for brewing when I have to get up in the moring to warm the pot. It wasted time of engineer and desing to invent ed these two options that not useful to consumer. It should not be KitchenAid. Read more

Very disapointed with this coffee maker. Coffee occasionally smelled and tasted of burnt plastic. First cup was lukewarm second cup 5 minutes later much cooler, To be fair I generally only make a four cup pot and the first few cups out of a full pot may have been better but with the occasional plastic taste back it went.
