We needed a cable to take commands from our custom built joystick (analog) to our PC's USB port (digital). Use of the USB port was required because we have no gameport or intention of adding one.The cable was immediately recognized and worked perfectly! Shoppers beware: We bought a very similar-looking cable from Belkin but it did not have the switch and, we think, did not have any ability to convert from analog to digital. This OTHER cable was totally useless. [...] Read more

I've got a Thrusmaster NASCAR Charger 2 (wheel) and a Gravis joystick.

I tested the wheel with Live For Speed and NDFMW. I had to set the adapter to the game pad setting just to get the pedals to work, also the paddle shifters.
In LFS the pedals worked fine, once I got the game calibrated, but I don't use the paddle shifters at all, unless I wanted to set 1 to handbrake and what's the point in that.
However in NFSMW again I had to set the adapter to gamepad setting and then the petals showed up but acted like buttons, so no matter how softly I pressed the gas it was full on, same for the break. The paddle shifters was even more strange; one was seen as a button while the other was seen as Y Axis.

I only have 1 flight game still installed, Air Conflict. I had been having problems getting this game to see my gameport joystick to start with. Sadly even with this adapter no matter what setting I used it still would not work.
GTASA started to see the joystick just fine, but after r

I just bought the adapter so that I could use my MS Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick, and guess what- it just doesn't work. My computer recognizes that a USB game controller is plugged in, but it just doesn't respond to any inputs. Can't calibrate, can't do anything. It looks like the packaging, instructions, and website all fail to mention that it's incompatible with the most popular brand of game port joystick. I'm returning it right now and going to a real electronics store to get a new joystick. Read more

I recently upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit which no longer supports game ports. With this device, I was able to configure both an old Thrustmaster joystick with POV and my Ferraro Design Formula 1 steering wheel and peadals. Very easy to set up, and inexpensive compared to other similar adapters I've seen on the web. Read more

I just bought this in hopes of using this with my old 10 button gravis gamepad. This adapter goes hey wire when I plugged it in. After looking closer i noticed that this adapter can only configure up to 8 buttons(would've been nice to know this before I bought it). It does work with with my no name compusa gamepad I bought years ago that had no drivers. Read more
