Bought this for use around the house. My best friend is a contractor, and I work with him occasionally. I decided to give it a "trial by fire" and brought it out to use on his job site one day last week. The compressor outpaced his other brand name pancake compressor by leaps and bounds, and held its own against his large commercial compressor. We used two framing nailers simultaneously with this compressor, and did not have a single issue. Long story short, the unit is MORE than enough for "around the house" jobs, and is adequate enough for everyday commercial use. We drove 2 1/2" nails through pressure treated 2x12's all day long.

CONS- This unit is LOUD. Don't plan on having a conversation if you're in close proximity...or just buy a 100' hose and keep the compressor outside. Also, the lack of cases for the guns is an issue. The supplied bag is nice, but if you're moving them around a lot (job to job) you risk damaging them. For household use, the bag is fine. Read more

I received this kit three years ago as a Christmas gift and have used it for numerous wood working projects, crafts, and DIY repairs and remodeling around the house without narry a problem. I've even loaned it out and had others go buy their own when they returned it!

Superb combination of components by Porter Cable, reliable service over the past three years, and excellent variety and capacities of nailers/staplers. I've used everything that came with the kit and bought other items for use and the only thing that I haven't been able to do was remove the frozen lugnuts off a buddy's 4X4 - just not enough umph. But then again, it wasn't made for that sort of use.

I build a wall mounted, three-wall storage cabinet that is open on the front and top for access and air circulation. Two drawers built into the lower half provides storage of the nailers and additional accessories. A hole on the left side provides access to the tank's drain valve and coat hooks on each side holds an extension

This is a fantastic starter kit or for use with small home projects. I have also added a framing nailer and it works fine. The compressor has plenty of power. I never had to wait on the pressure to be restored (though the compressor will kick on after about 12 nails). Pros will need something bigger, but its great for the house, small and easy to store. Read more

I've had my new nailer combo for more than a week now and I have to say that it's one of the best tools that I have ever purchased. You get professional looking results with less effort and skill. The nailer allows you to put things together that would be impossible with a regular hammer and nails due to the repeated pounding with a hammer.
The compressor isn't as loud as I expected but it does make noise. There is a built-in handle on the top which makes moving it relatively easy. The system also comes with a 40 foot air hose, so if the noise bothers you, it's possible to put it far enough away (or around the corner) so it won't be too annoying.
The staple gun, brad nailer, and finish nailer are very high quality and made of good solid materials. They are easy to load and very easy to use. I have not seen a single jamming event yet.
The carrying case is also quite handy for keeping things together and clean.
I've done a few trim work projects including crown molding to date. This nail

the compressor works great. the gauges and regulator are easy to use and read. the compressor is alittle loud but not a big deal. the air hose that comes with it is pretty good its long enought to do things without moving the compressor alot. all of the guns are light weight. that makes it easy to use without getting tired. i have used the stapler the most about 2000 staples so far and it worked without a miss fire or getting jammed. the finish nailer i have used almost as much as the stapler i did a lot of trim in the house with it. it has work without no miss fires or jamming. i have only used the brad nailer a few times it worked good also. the depth adjustments on the guns work good and loading them all is very easy to do. one thing i really like about the finish nailer and brad nailer is that the only mark it leaves in the wood is the nail. which makes less patching and easy touch up if needed. i have used other brands and they left big dents in the wood. this is an excellent kit
