I just brought the product and so far so good.. I like that it's very compact. I think the sound is great. I think it has quite of bit of storage considering the price. I currently have about 225 songs on this thing and I believe I will be able to fit 300 more.. it's great little player for whatever u want to use it for.. Read more

I bought this MP3 player mostly to listen to podcasts and audio books. I was pleasantly surprised that it does this reasonably well. When you turn it off, and turn it back on, it takes picks up where it left off. It even keeps its place after you connect and disconnect it from your computer. Some MP3 players drain the battery at a significant rate even when off. My last player, a Sony, would need to be recharged after a week even if it was never used. This would be annoying because I would loose my place in the audio book I was listening to. This one is specified to take 300uA when off. I measured the current taken by mine and it is under 150uA. Even at the specified rate, a battery would last 3 months and it keeps its place even after the battery has been removed for a long time.

As a voice recorder, it’s O.K. There is more distortion at the lower sampling rates that there should be. It allows you to pause while recording a single file. Even after voice recording, i

Summary:I normally use and like the 1GB Zen Nano Plus. This player is slightly larger but almost as powerful, and it has 2GB! But it is slightly harder to use, with menus similar to the budget Centon player.Features:Resume (saves place at power-off)Directory navigationDisplays ID3 tagsShuffleMicrophone recordingDual headphone jacksAAA battery powered (no waiting for recharge)Normal size USB connectorDiscounted priceCon:Lose your place if you abort power-offNo key lockNo custom equalizerAudiobooks----------One of the reasons to get a second MP3 player is for working your way through an audio book, continuing to use the first one for music. (Still my plan, but I'll use the Zen Nano for the audio book now.)[@] While Media Player 10 transfered the file and 20-day license successfully, "Unknow Format" appears when I try to play it. The same file plays fine on my Zen Nano. But let's assume netlibrary is giving out some weird bitrate or something, and continue. (WMP says: "Windows Medi

I have my player loaded with dozens of Christmas songs but will add other things after the holiday season.

The ear buds do not stay plugged in tightly. The plug is either not in quite far enough or is pushed too far into the jack. I have to fiddle with moving it in and out to find just the right spot, then it works OK unless the cord gets tugged again. This is quite irritating but is not a problem if I'm not moving much around while I listen.

I'm nearsighted, but I find the display panel difficult to read even without my glasses. To me, the text looks "spidery". Some farsighted people may need a magnifying glass to read the menu.

Some of the functions don't seem to work the way the instructions indicate they should. I don't know if I'm just being dense or if the instructions are written poorly.

The battery that came with the unit failed within a couple of hours of play time. I replaced it with a rechargeable Energizer and it's going strong after many hours of play.

Add my experience to the list of folks who've had this product completely freeze on them. All I get is the omnitech home screen, battery must be removed to turn it off, and the computer no longer recognizes it when it's connected. This is a defective product, and apparently there are many other defective ones out there. Read more
