I was so frustrated with a cheap shredder one day I just gave up went on overstock, read reviews and ordered this shredder. My problems are over, this shredder works like a charm, no more jams. It chops the papers it is fed almost to dust! It is pretty tall, which makes feeeding easy. The bin pulls out like a drawer so you don't have to lift a heavy top off. There is a little window in the front so you can see when the shredder is getting full. You can put a plastic bag inside to catch the clippings.. It also has rollers which make it easy to move to another room. It was delivered in just 2-3 days. I used it for about an hour before the red light came on and told me to give it a rest. I had fed it 3-5 sheets at a time. When it cooled down it was back on duty. So I love it. Buy it and you will too! Read more

I have only used this once for a period of 45 minutes (even though it says not to use it this long at one time) and it is an EATING MACHINE. I was amazed to see a bag of papers shredded up with so much ease. I don't put more than 4 sheets at a time even though it says it can take 9 sheets maximum at one time. It is constructed solidly. I recommend putting a garbage bag in it before you use it; Since it microshreds, produces some paper dust. One thing that troubles me a bit is a noise of a metal ball clanking at times when I'm shredding. It's located in the top of the machine and I think it helps roll the paper into the machine. But other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase. I hope the metal teeth don't get blunt and i also hope this machine lasts me a long time. Read more

This shredder indeed handles 9 pages, unlike others that state they do, but don't. The pieces are so small that I've done stacks of pages and have yet to fill up the nice size container. The container is extremely easy to empty. You just pull out the drawer! Unlike an earlier shredder I owned where you had to pick up the very heavy shredding part to take it off the container to empty. I am very pleased with this purchase. I was equally pleased with the very quick shipping of the item; within days to my front porch. If you are tired of fooling around trying to find an excellent shredder, stop, this one is for you and worth the money you pay on Overstock! Read more

This shredder is fabulous. It makes mush out of the paper - much better than a confetti shredder. The waste bin has a see through level that tells you BEFORE the unit is too full to continue shredding, and the operation is smooth and capable of taking 6-8 sheets without missing a lick. I have only had it two months, but have burned up two smaller, cheaper shredders (always at tax time). This one is obviously much better and extremely secure in its shredding pattern. I would recommend it to anyone if you do anything other than casual shredding of papers. It even does credit cards without any problem. Read more

I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase - it arrived within a day or two of ordering, was well packaged, and required no assembly. You just plug it in and shred! It does an amazing job of shredding paper into VERY small "accordion-like" pieces to really protect your personal information. I haven't tried credit card or discs yet. I don't have extensive experience with shredders, but to me, it sounds like just about every other shredder I've used - not particularly loud or quiet. I would highly recommend this shredder to anyone looking to purchase one - another great value from Overstock! Read more
