I actually wanted the "Thomas the Train" version but it is not available, so we improvised. I painted the front "face plate" white and my wife drew "Thomas's" face on it, the colors on the "Santa Fe" are perfect for the conversion. If you could have seen the look on our daughters face Christmas morning, she ran over and hugged the train. She rides it all the time giving her dolls a ride in the little storage car. I did invest in the heavy duty battery that is available through service centers and it is still running on that same battery without a charge. We have other products by Peg Perego and have never been disappointed in them or Toys R Us. Thanks and keep up the good work and high standards. Read more

My 2.5yr old uses this pretty much every day and when my nephew comes they're both on the train, one driving, one sitting on the back, they love it. Child does need to learn to distibute their weight evenly otherwise the train will pop off the tracks. Yet to try it without the tracks, but will do so after the holidays. Be prepared to have train and tracks take up a large chunk of space in your house, not good for small dwellings. Read more

train was great and kids had a lot of fun riding it at my grand daughters 2nd birthday party.toy didn't stop for three hours.had to supervise who was next to ride. kids picked up how to ride it quickly by watching the others ride.may purchase extra battery. when it was drained we had to wait a few hours to charge it up again.[...] Read more

My 2 year old daughter loves this train. It is however quite loud, with no way to adjust the volume. It also de-rails easily and we have to move it back for her since it's so heavy. And my last complaint, is that you are supposed to charge it every single night of it's use to preserve the battery's life. But I have to say the entertainment value out weighs the cons overall. We got this as a Christmas gift for our 2 year old son and he loves it!!! It is a great toy especially if your child loves rides. The only complaint I have about this is that the caboose keeps coming off of the track. My advise for the next person is definately buy this for your child but save a little money and buy the cheaper version, the one without the caboose. Read more
