I bought this for my son after his teacher said he was ready. It's very simple that you get everyting you need in one buy. When I started searing for a kit I was unsure as what to buy. the tama swingstar is a decent set for beginners. It was my first set and I had it for awhile. The bass and toms have a rich sound, but the snare is not that good. The snare wires always rattled when i hit the toms. Read more
