These bags roll well on concrete and perfectly smooth tile, but not on the type of carpet that is used throughout public buildings. Therefore, they glide easily through airports, but are very difficult to use in hotels. They also catch on every little ripple. Consequently, each doorway, every elevator, and most tiled floors with grouting are problematic. These issues are more easily overcome if using only one wheeled bag for a trip, but when two bags are required, navigating with them is frequently troublesome. They are rather heavy even when empty, so caution must be taken to not exceed airline weight limits with the large suitcase. Even when packed minimally for business trips, I've had to remove articles (and carry them through airports in my arms) to avoid surcharges due to weight. As a gift for my mother, who travels for business about 70-90 times a year (!), I purchased this set from Luggage Point. She had seen another traveller with this luggage and asked them how they felt about it. WIth their positive review, she began looking for it at local retailers. She threw a fit when Costco ran out of a similar brand set, and so I bought this as a Christmas present. She immediately used the ENTIRE set for a family trip to Mexico City. International travel truly tests the product quality, and she has nothing but praise to say about her new luggage set. Everything she packed fit well, spaciously, and was secure, without much shifting (which is amazing, considering her travel to Mexico!). She didn't need assistance with her luggage at any point, all seams and zippers worked properly and endured the trip, and she loved the bright red color of the set. I bought this luggage for a cruise we were going on over Thanksgiving vacation and it worked out well. The only thing is we got it in black and I guess half of people traveling get black also which kinda made it hard to locate our luggage at return port. Other than that the quality and ease of use is there. Also storage for these are so easy. All the pieces fit perfectly in the one large suitcase so you dont have to waste storage space at home. This product received high ratings, so I overcame my scepticism about the four-wheel design and bought it. I now believe that my scepticism was warranted: the four-wheel design is not a good feature, especially when checking luggage. However, that isn't my main complaint: even the carry-on pieces suffered serious seam problems on the very FIRST use. I've been a long-time Samsonite fan, often picking it over other more expensive suitcases in my collection; after this, I may never buy another Samsonite product. Read more
