I have been playing for almost two years and needed to get a better guitar then my squire strat, so i did some research and tried out various other guitars along with this one, Gibson Faded SG and the similar Ibanez SZ720. I ended up getting this one for xmas and i cannot put it down. I play a wide variety of music styles, alternitave, ska, metal, classic rock, or whatever challenges me and this thing delivers the sound i need. The action is low and the neck is fast and very playable. The quilted body is sweet looking and so is the flame inlay on the 12th fret. The SZ720 is the same thing, except with more flame inlays and some other minor upgrades. I love this guitar and reccomend it to any beginner to advanced player. Read more

Had this guitar for 6 months. I've played for over 35 years and this is the best guitar I've ever owned. Sustain, playability, balance, appearance all are top notch. Had gotten in a rut playing, but this guitar has busted me out. I've never played this well, or enjoyed playing this much. Ever!!
Sorry, can't think of any negatives! Read more

I've had this guitar for over a year now, got it back in October/November of 2004. It's a great value, as far as technical difficulties I've not had any problems with it so far. The tone was pretty good stock, I put in a Seymour Duncan Jazz and a Distortion in the neck (later changed to a Dimarzio Super Distortion, the SD seemed a bit harsh). As for finish, well, it'll get scratched like most guitars I imagine, but it's tough, it's taken some big falls from being with me. One review I read before buying this guitar stated that it took a 4 or 5 foot fall from a wall mounted holder and the guitar was fine. I'd honestly believe it, it's a tough guitar. If you're intermediate (or even a new player) who's looking for a guitar that's gonna get you through, or even one that'll take care of gigs and stuff like college, well I'd certainly recommend this one, for the price it can't be beat, the tone is great. I can't say much on how it compares to that of a Gibson, PRS, or anything simili
