The set up instructions are really horrible so just ask someone's help if you have never put something together on your own. This is a big and heavy house too so be careful not to hurt yourself carrying the panels from one place to another place. The nails used for the porch [roof] are much to thin: I replaced them with thicker ones. Use an electric drill in order to screw the screws: a regular screwdriver is useless. The insulation [located in the roof - heavy panels!] reallly works!!! It can be above 90 degrees and the house is cool inside! Therefore I am assuming it is going to be great for winter too. Dogs don't like the plastic doors so I got rid of these. I water sealed the house as well. This is a GREAT HOUSE - you will not find anywhere such quality for that price. It is EXTREMELY spacious: Large -> 2 large dogs: they LOVE the house! I have 10 dogs and if I need another house in the fulture I will definitively order this model again. I ordered the doghouse with porch. The good thing is that it does provide protection for the dogs. My dogs don't particularly like being in doghouse (it's just them, they used to have two doghouses and they preferred to stay under the shed), so the porch is great for keeping them out of the rain. And it's good that the "doghouse proper" is there for them when winter comes to NJ. BUT, the doghouse was way too difficult to set up! I just moved so I had to put together quite a few furniture items together. The doghouse is by far the most difficult to set up. Granted it's for outdoor use so not quite comparable w/ indoor furniture, but still... I put together all the indoor furniture by myself. I had to have the help from a handyman to put the doghouse together. We worked a couple hours to set up the doghouse proper, then a couple hours another day to set up the porch. I was impressed with the quality of the wood and construction of the pieces to fit so precisely. It is heavy-duty(at least the large, duplex size is)so it's better with two people for assembly. But it is a very simple assembly and all that's needed is an electric drill to screw the panels together(hand screwdriving would be difficult through the wood). It's a great solution for a woman without a carpenter-handy husband/friend to build such a solid, protective and attractive structure! Read more
