A wonderful guitar...I love it!

Of all the guitars I'd picked up and played during the past month, including a couple of high end Ramirez, I always came back to this one. It's just wonderful; the rich tone, the brightness, how it projects, and how right it feels in my hands. I actually picked it up at Sam Ash for [$], as it's used (though it only has a couple of slight signs of being used); so it was a great deal...couldn't pass it up.My intent was to acquire a student flamenco guitar. I know it's not a flamenco guitar, but in comparision to the ones I had picked up (for as much as $1K), this Raimundo put those to shame (and all I had to do was put on a removeable golpe protector). It has such a beautiful bright sound, has so much character regardless of what is played on it.So I love this guitar and I would reccomend it... Read more

It is almost impossible to get a solid body Classical, especially with choice Cedar, Ebony, Rosewood in a classical guitar without paying a fortune. I've heard Raimundo is also the manufacturer of some of the Raimarez student series models as the R1. My 146 is beautiful. Although there are minor finish flaws, (wood specs were sometimes varnished over), the tone is excellent. I am proud to own this guitar and find that it is played sometimes 4 times a day. If you purchase this, Please get yourself a good hard-shell case. These guitars should age gracefully. This guitar has prompted me to begin training myself in the classical guitar technique even though I have been playing for 30 years. [...] Also, recommendation, the Bridge and saddle appear to be plastic rather than bone. I would definitly replace those. This would give the guitar even better tonal characteristics. Read more

I gave this generally four stars out of 5 only for issues I discovered with the finish on my 146 after close examination. Appears around the rosette, they actually varnished over a piece of hair or wood debris. There was also another finish flaw where the neck met the body near the Ebony fingerboard. Although none of these issues ruined the tone of the guitar since a quality solid body guitar (Cedar Top, Rosewood back and sides, Cedar Neck) can run into the thousands, I chose the Raimundo since nothing could compare to it in the [$]price range which I paid for it. It sounds wonderful and good tonal characteristics. I spent a good month or two researching instruments and almost bought a Rameriz R1, until I found out that all of the Studio models are produced by an outside manufacturer. This model 146 suited my needs well and I love the smell of the wood. I am proud to own this instrument and all ready to record with it. Read more

I have owned my Raimundo 146 for 6+ years. The tone is much better compared to many more expensive guitars those I have tried at local guitar stores.

A little problem for me is the neck size. It is a bit too thick for my small left hand.

The first string is too close to the finger board edge. This problem should be adjustable.

The fifth string, is hard for my tuner (Boss CA-30) to tune. I guess this was caused by reflected bass sound. But anyway, my ears enjoy the super bass. Read more

I spent hours [...] going through all of the Raimundo guitars. Truthfully, the 128's sounded very bit as good as the 146 and even the 148's!! Very good quality and very good sound. I picked the 146 over a more expensive Rodriguez, Cordoba, and even Ramirez [...]! But be sure to test out all of the frets because occasionally on some of the models there were some slight fret buzzes (which were evident on a lot of guitar brands I tested). Read more
