If it senses any airflow restriction, it shuts off the heat and this will need to be reset by a technician. This is the worst, most expensive piece of junk I've ever bought. We've had the machine for a little over a year, and have had nothing but trouble out of it. The first week we had it, the tub hanger broke and it took a week to get someone out to fix it. Then it kept throwing the breaker. Then the tub started squeaking the whole time it runs. I'm disappointed in this product.My first DEGX2 made squeaking sounds when drying; when the technician came to my house,he destroyed my dryer.Fisher&paykel replaced my dryer[...],unfortunately the new dryer was louder than the first dryer we had, so they replaced it with another one and it has the same issues.It makes grinding noises when the dryer reverse tumbles... I had a night mare with this product. I purchased the product. the first unit that was delivered would not heat up and basically only tumbled the wet clothes. The second unit that came the following day locked up and displayed "i need service" the minute the installer plugged it in. A third unit was sent and it seems to work but is very inefficent. these are fancy looking dryers but beyond that they really do not work. You are much better off with the [$] one from Sears. I was hoping for more from Fisher & Paykel but was sorely disappointed. The heat constantly shuts off and needs to be reset by a technician......SCREAM!!! This has happened to me three times in the last two months.....unbelievable! This is impossible to deal with!! I want my money back! Read more
