I travel frequently to places where you need to pack light, move fast, and have no time for complex hardware. I also need a still camera, video recorder, MP3 player (to stay sane), voice-memo recorder, and reliable data storage that won't take up too much space in a carry-on, or arouse the greed of some nation's customs officials. The AIPTEK DV5900 fits these requirements as perfectly as it fits into my carry-on, or my shirt pocket, or dangling from my neck. It's simple, light, and darn near perfect. The low-light capability needs improvement, but this deficit is more than compensated for by ease of use, compact profile and reliability. And the price is perfect. I've read some poor reviews of this and other AIPTEK products, and I frankly, these users have no clue what it's like to travel these days, particularly overseas. Read more

I chose this camera because I needed a digital camera and wanted a camcorder so I could also take video of live music performances. This is the easiest camera to use which is great for me since I am not very electronically inclined. The photo and video quality is excellent and you can print your photos on any inkjet printer with photo paper. You can customize the camera settings based on your own preferences. It also has a voice recorder which I absolutely love. I can record live musical performance on the recorder and even from tv or cd's etc... I love this feature. I can also plug in the camorder to my dvd recorder and make my own dvd's which is a great bonus and added feature. It's compact, you can carry it around everywhere which I do and it's a great price for what you get. It also has an MP3 player and Pc camera. Also, easy uploads of your photos to your PC. listen. this is the best item out of its price range and will give you more for less money. its a great camera. its a great digital video camera. its a great voice recorder. its a pretty good mp3 player. everything suggests you buy it. its fast , its affordable , its VERY easy to use. sturdy ,reliable, and doesn't eat batteries. this item can hold the LARGEST media cards out there so you wont not be able to hold more data. people still dont seem to understand also is that this item can record from your tv and dvd player or ANY other device with normal red yellow white jacks. this is an awesome item. if you dont like something you can delete it there on the spot . and night shots are decent. just get it!!! you will love it!!! I read the reviews before purchasing this camera, and they were pretty accurate. It is a decent camera/camcorder for the money. When I can get my hands still (I have yet to master digital picture taking), the pictures in good lighting are excellent. It does have a stabilizing feature, but it can only compensate so much. I have already used the camcorder to transfer several VHS tapes to a digital format on my computer, and then burned them onto a DVD (very nice!). I have used my tripod (not included) with the device, rotated the screen to the front, and used the included remote control to take a family portrait. The controls are pretty straight forward; however, this would be where my first major complaint comes into play. There's no delete button, or the ability to delete several items at once. This is the best cam, mp3 player, mic, camcord, patch-in video device all in one. I have used it in harsh climates, because i travel. I have not need for the software CD because i use the USB with my mac os 10.3.9 Panther. When i plug it into my ibook or my regular desktop macintosh computer. It shows up as a Hard Disk and i just click on it and open, I can drop my mp3 music or file on to the mp folder that located on with in DV Cam, ( i love that), My IPHOTO program imports my pic from the came easily. I love video file that are taken, which are most clear, I use a program for macintosh computers called VLC (videolan) which is FREEWARE program for mac and pc and linux actually for all OS. VLC open .asf video file. And i am completely happy :-) I like it also because i use the auto record mic slector for recording live events , the same i use the camcorder slector to get some really awesome videos , they upload very easly [...] Any way if you don't have alot money to buy one those new … Read more
